About this listen
Losing a loved one can change a person, their outlook on life, and their reason for being...
Dane and Noah go through those changes together. Neither of them encouraged or expected what their future would bring, but they don’t regret their new normal.
When Dane’s girlfriend, Maranda, became pregnant during their summer break before starting college, Dane did what he felt any man should do in that situation, he gained a respectable job as a firefighter to provide for his girlfriend and their daughter, Sydney; he became dependable, not needing to rely on his parents or anyone else for help. After disowning his parents for their choice of disowning his gay, older brother, Noah’s life was blissfully simple. He was the manager of a hotel, and engaged to his best friend, Sydney, Dane’s daughter. As long as he had a good book to read, he was happy.
Life for Dane and Noah was set in stone; they knew who they were, who they loved, and where their lives were going. However, when tragedy strikes, their lives are upended and they have no one left...except each other.
Author note: Male/male romance, gay for you, can be listened to as a stand-alone. Contains sexual acts between consenting adults, strong language, light daddy kink, light dubious consent.

An emotional journey
Such a heart-rending story! Heart-warming, heart-breaking, heart-MELTING! These two together, magic. Great book from a new to me author, and narrator. Wyatt gave a wonderful performance, amping up the emotion & tension perfectly. The page-turning sound effect denoting 'scene breaks' was jarring at first, a little irritating, but I learned to ignore it as the story carried me along to the end. I'm hoping Mark & Taylor are next up in the series, that'd be an interesting story to delve into. Well done, author and narrator! I look forward to more from both.

A Dark & Emotional Story
I really enjoyed Darla O'Malley's writing style, and I can see why I Need You is such a popular story.
There are a number of darker themes here... I don't want to spoil anything, and the premise of the story isn't truly revealed in the precis, so I'm not going to say, but this is a real hurt-comfort romance.
This is also the perfect example of what a difference the audiobook narrator makes! I always associate Wyatt Baker with serious, darker romances, so he's a great fit for I Need You. Mr. Baker delivers a lovely performance.

There For Each Other.
MM, Sexual Awakenings, Age Gap, Contemporary, Romance. This story was fantastic, and had me gripped from the very beginning, full of emotion and an absolute tear jerker at times with a very lovely guaranteed HEA. This would of been a five star review for everything had it not been for what I had assumed were editing errors throughout, however on contacting the author I now know that the page turning sounds were put it purposefully to separate the chapters..I however am still not a fan of these intrusive noises.

Interesting gay for you
I’m always game to try new authors, and so I snagged this title and dove in. I adore Wyatt Baker, and I thought his narration was great. As always, he delivered a solid performance.
I’ll admit I didn’t read the blurb, and even if I had, I wouldn’t have been prepared for the depth of tragedy that Dane and Noah face. A person’s greatest fear. A person’s greatest regret. More so for Dane because part of it might’ve been predicted. Still the men are left mired in intense grief and there’s no one else who can understand the depth of pain – except each other.
That they turned to each other was foreseeable. What happened between them was not. I liked this unique take on gay for you. Even the daddy kink was cute. At times the villain felt a little overdone, but that’s a very small quibble. Overall, I enjoyed the book and I hope the next two come out on audio soon as well.

A different kind of love story
I absolutely loved Dane and Noah's story.
This was definitely a different kind of romance.
There was hurt, comfort and so many feelings involved.
I loved their entire romance arc, however the daddy/boy kink didn't relate to me in their relationship dynamic.
However overall the narration was good and an enjoyable listen overall.

Perfect
A great start to a series that promises to be addictive by Darla O’Malley. Noah and Dane are amazing characters to follow with a unique story that keeps getting better. Wyatt Baker did a fantastic job with the narration. Can not wait to know who the next happy couple will be.

Heartbreak to healing
Dane and Noah think they have their lives planned out until they are both devastated by the same event. They help each other heal and discover things about themselves they never expected. This was a lovely gay for you story and Wyatt Baker's performance captured the transitions from life before, during and after the devastation beautifully.

I Need You
Loss and grief are difficult and complex emotions to tackle, individually and in a relationship. The author did a good job showing this. I bought in though there were moments where it seemed to fall into place a little easy. Overall, good listen with good narration.

New to me author.
After a sad beginning, two men who loved two women look to each other for comfort.
This book has all the feels. These men go through so much loss and then turn to each other for company, a very slow burn as they do not know what they mean to each other. Not a bad book at all, I enjoyed it,
I liked Wyatt Bakers' narration. Although the pages being turned were very off-putting, I don't think I've ever heard it before by any narrator. However, I did speed up to 1.50 on audible, which is my norm.

I Need You
Darla O’Malley is a new to me author and I found ‘I Need You’ an enjoyable audiobook to listen to. The premise of the story was original and the characters likeable, you couldn’t help but become invested in their story. The writing style flows easily but at times sounded a little less polished than the rest and the sound of the page turning was grating to me, but over all I would definitely listen to this author again.
Wyatt Baker definitely added stars to this audiobook with his narrative skills.
