Summary

High school senior Rhonda Glock's life is about to change. After being attacked and bitten by a disgruntled, soon-to-be-ex-cheerleader, the heretofore invisible high school “brainy girl” periodically and eerily transmutes into Ronnie, the most popular cheerleader at Lawrence Talbot High.

No longer awkward and ignored as Ronnie, Rhonda grapples with both fearing and embracing her new, unwanted persona. She experiences a new status high and her first academic failures. She confronts family dramas–including the shenanigans of her two mischievous younger brothers and meeting the expectations of her super-achiever mother. She endures interactions with a spooky lady janitor and her creepy pet Chihuahua (who thinks it is a cat), and the high school milieu, all the while navigating her unrequited love for Bud, her childhood best-friend and the school's favorite football hero. Hocus-pocus and hijinks abound as Rhonda discovers what it is like to be her own nemesis and romantic rival.

Can Rhonda and Bud both learn the truth about the mysteries of real life and true love before the end of the prom? One thing is certain: By the end of this book—you will believe in magic!
