About this listen
Nia experienced déjà vu happening right before her eyes. Her gut begged her to run in the other direction, but the strong hold that love had on her kept her stuck in place.
East had truly been heaven-sent, and after the time they spent together, and the memories they made, she couldn’t see life without him. Dealing with a man in the streets was more than what these young girls posted on Instagram...the late nights and early mornings, missed calls, and phone going straight to voicemail. It was more than watching him stow funds away in a board under the floor, and it was beyond bailing him out of jail due to a petty charge. She wasn’t just laying down beside a local dope boy at night. No, those days were behind East. Once he reached higher heights and joined the ranks of the Who’s Who in the streets, the ones closest to him true colors were exposed. Her grandmother used to tell her, before she passed, that new levels brought new devils, and this was back in the '80s when she would tell Nia to watch the ones closest to her. For that very reason, she never hung with many people.
Nia kept a tight circle, and even the ones she considered “friends” didn’t know her every move. Nia believed in making moves in silence and allowing success to make the noise for her. She didn’t showboat, flex, boast, brag…none of that; it wasn’t in her to do so. Neither was it in East. He was the same way and of the exact same caliber. They were perfect together and still are, even though he’s fighting for his life...all because his “friend” couldn’t stomach to see him doing better than he....
In Love with a Brooklyn Thug 2 is the explosive sequel to Part I.
