Things aren't looking great for Cass Clereaux. For one, her greatest fear has come true. Series could be better

I like the overall storyline for this series but it didn't grip me as it had the potential to. The books at times take too long to get to the point, so rather than building with tension I found myself thinking just get on with it. Maybe it would have worked over fewer books, the pacing was too slow for me.
