Summary
As a storm rolls in, a team of elite Navy SEALs arrives at a remote lodge for a wilderness training exercise that becomes terrifyingly real....
Xavier Rivera planned the exercise down to the smallest detail, but he didn't plan the arrival of archaeologist Audrey Kendrick—a woman he shared a passionate night with before betraying her in the worst way.
As the storm is unleashed on the historic lodge it becomes clear the training has been compromised. Trapped by weather, isolated by the remote wilderness, and silenced as communication with the world has been severed, unarmed SEALs face an unexpected and deadly foe.
Audrey and Xavier must set aside their distrust and desire and work together to save a team under fire and survive in a battle against the wild.
“INTO THE STORM showcases Grant’s talent for weaving together heart-pounding adventure and touching romance. Another page-turner!” (New York Times best-selling author Laura Griffin)

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Thrilling
This gripping and thrilling romantic suspense is my first novel written by Rachel Grant and consider me wowed, she is a gifted author with an impressive writing style, her descriptive details takes you into her story right alongside the characters allowing you to see and experience everything they do and know what they are thinking. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about too, well, except the bad guys. Navy SEAL Xavier Rivera sustained an injury on his last mission that ended his ability to do fieldwork, but he can put his valuable knowledge and expertise to use and train other SEALs for future missions and that is exactly what he is doing in a remote area in the Pacific Northwest, in an area that is remote wilderness and not easily accessible to the public in the winter months. Archaeologist Audrey Kendrick is protective of land and the park she works in, so much so she declined a permit allowing usage of the area for a military training operation, but thanks to Xavier Rivera’s betrayal they got their permits. She and Xavier had history, a one-night stand, a memorable one, but he turned around and made accusations that were untrue, which was surprising since he was supposed to be an honorable man. Unbeknownst to Audrey, the op was going on and she wound up amid it and complicating matters even more is the storm that rolled in. Rivera’s training mission was a go, but when he sees her and she tells why she is there, he goes with her to investigate, then it all goes downhill from there. Someone sabotaged his mission right from the start and what was a training exercise becomes a real life battle and the two of them and the others wind up battling for their lives. These two were great together and for each other, they worked well as a team and the chemistry between them was smoking hot. This military thriller, romantic suspense keeps you on your toes and takes you to the edge of your seat, it is a cleverly plotted story with the perfect balance of drama, action, thrilling suspense, mystery, heartfelt emotions and a steamy romance. Rachel Grant, thank you for this amazing story and the wild and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Rachel Grant could not have chosen a better cast to bring her characters and story to life. Nicol Zanzarella and Greg Tremblay are fabulously talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that fit that character’s persona sounding believable in every role they play. Zanzarella played Audrey’s role with perfection, grasped every side of her personality, her strength and her bravery. Tremblay was amazing as Xavier, nailed it as a bad@ss seal. Both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhanced an already amazing story to another level. Thank you for this fantastic listen.

Exciting and Thrilling.
WOW.!!
This Audiobook is INCREDIBLE !!
After listening to the prequel I was eager to know what would happen to Xavier and Audrey after that one passionate night together, and what Audrey would do when she finds out who Xavier really was.
Well this story unravels all of those questions and more...and it is a real adventure.
Audrey discovers her one night with Xavier has given her a gift she was pregnant..and she wanted Xavier to know about their pregnancy.
But their second meeting doesn't go too well,Xavier had done something that discredits Audrey, so he can obtain Olympic National Park as the site for his Seal team to do a training exercise.
Audrey is an Archeologist and she has the power to refuse the request to use the park for the training exercise.
But nothing goes to plan and the day that the training exercise is to take place,Audrey is in the wrong place at the wrong time and soon Xavier and Audrey are being hunted in the forest by an unknown threat...And what is supposed to be a training exercise has turned into a mission to stay alive.
Russian Mercanaries are out to kill ALL the seals taking part in the training exercise for revenge.
They want Xavier..
Audrey must work with Xavier as they trek through the forest trying to evade being killed by the mercenaries...and they do make a great team.
Now Xavier does something horrible to Audrey at the start of this book, almost destroying her career and reputation,he betrays her trust.
But Honestly he redeems himself a million times over for me because man he is so sweet and romantic he says all the right things to make a girl swoon.
Poor Audrey doesn't know if she can trust him and his sincerity, but she has to trust that he will keep them safe.
There is alot going on this book and there is so much information to take in especially if you aren't used to listening to suspenseful romances. So you really have to pay attention.
The Narrators for this book Nicol Zanzarella and Greg Tremblay are PHENOMENAL !
They are the perfect fit to speak for these characters, they told the story precisely, clearly and with emotion.I Absolutely Loved listen to them.
Rachel Grant's writing is stunning and beautifully descriptive I could imagine everything that was happening to Audrey and Xavier through Rachel's amazing writing and the exquisite narration by Nicol and Greg.
Into The Storm is an emotional and thrilling book and had me so hooked and on the edge of my seat through-out.
I completely and utterly enjoyed listening to it and I am excited to listen to book 2.
Loved it.

Excellent
I liked Xavier but I was hoping that he would have to work harder to gain Audrey's love and trust especially as he was so snarky to her in the opening chapter. However, the non stop action and heart pounding suspense meant that the pair didn't have time to argue with each other and a truce developed quickly and naturally. Xavier was more likeable after he apologised and showed his caring side.
This was quite an exciting and intense read. The suspense was thick right from the beginning and the story kept that intensity all the way through.
The romance developed at a good pace and in a realistic timeline for the situation they were in. I loved the dual narration and both narrators were perfect and gave an excellent performance. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series and catching up with a few side characters who intrigued me a lot.
I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy.

Fantastic listen!
What a story! I love this kind of romantic suspense. It's not only thrilling with that thread of romance, but it's smart and made me want to know more! Rachel Grant always delivers a good story, and once I met Xavier an Audrey in Before the Storm, I knew I was going to be in for a treat. Audrey is an archaeologist, overseer of sacred park land and is very passionate about all surrounding areas. When a permit to launch a Navy SEALs training expedition came through her desk, she immediately declined it. Not realizing the requestor, Xavier used their one night stand as leverage to overturn her objection and the permit passed. Now he not only is bringing in the SEALS, but danger he didn't see coming. Xavier has a real mission now and protecting the curious archaeologist is just part of it! These two are fantastic together. Xavier is always on alert, but when it comes to Audrey, his defenses are down! Audrey's need to know finds her in a heap of trouble. The twists and turns kept me guessing. The plot is intricate, but easy to follow and the romance is hot! I enjoyed their story and am looking forward to the next book!
Nicol Zanzarella and Greg Tremblay bring this story to life. Both are tuned into their characters and create their personalities as I imagine them. The thrills are high, and they both keep that sense of danger looming. I loved their interpretation of the story and will be watching for more!

Romance and action!
An engaging story that moves at pace.
The story is mainly based in a closed off lodge being used as a centre for a SEALS training exercise- but nothing goes as it should!

Excellent!
I loved INTO THE STORM, it has all the things I love in a book - romance, heat, military and great characters. The plot was solid and really had me on a knife edge at times. The setting felt realistic and I liked the level of detail used by the author which made it all very real but didn't overwhelm the story. The connection and exchanges between the two main characters really drew me into their story and I was rooting for them to find their happy ending.
I listened to this on audio and the narrators did fantastic jobs, really bringing the characters to life.

Enthralling and gripping
This is one of the few books I’ve listened to without having read the book first. I loved every minute of it. The story captured my attention immediately and held it throughout the entire book. I sometimes wished that the narrators would speak quicker as I was desperate to find out what happened next. I can’t wait to read more of Rachel Grants books.

Fabulous
Nonstop action and adventure. Great romance and chemistry between Xavier and Audrey. Multiple POVs.
Make sure you read the prequel - Before the Storm: One Hot Night - before this.
Fabulous narration! I kinda wish they had a third narrator for the other POVs just to help distinguish them but it's not a deal-breaker.
