myth meets history
I really liked the little details that were given about each myth and how they had been incorporated into other mythologies.
The narration was good and held my interest, lending weight to the history behind the myths.
I was given this audiobook for free and have left this review voluntarily.

Very good, but incomplete
Very well written, but I'm surprised at some of the stories that were omitted. e.g. Giants causeway and Táin Bó Cúailgne. But what was there was good. A good introduction

Fascinating Irish Mythology potted history
I found ‘Irish Mythology - An Introduction to the Gods’ by the History Nerds to be absolutely fascinating. It is a well put together potted history of Irish Mythology and very easy to understand. Whilst I enjoyed all of it, I was most drawn to the part about Bridget (higher exulted), the Mother Goddess, and how her role evolved and how she even managed to be incorporated into the Roman Catholic Christian religion to become a Saint.
I would say that you need to have a reading age of 12 years and upwards if you are going to physically read the book.
The Audible book is superbly narrated by Jack McArthur and I highly recommend it. It is a sound educational tool not impeded by an individual’s reading ability or for anyone who isn’t a lover of reading. Having said that, for younger listeners I would probably skip over the Introduction chapter entitled ‘Irish Mythology’ and go to the next chapter entitled ‘a. Mythological Cycle’.
