Summary

Candace Bushnell gets personal in her new memoir - an investigation into what happens when a woman of a certain age (ok, let's call it 'middle') finds herself not-so-young, free and single in the city. MILFs, cougars, love, sex, divorce - Candace's brilliantly funny and honest first-person account lays bare the truth behind middle-aged romance.

Among other revelations we read her Modern Day Cougar Compendium, including guidance on such important matters as the Unexpected Cub Pounce (sometimes the cub does the pouncing); what to do when your age-appropriate date asks you to pay for his kitchen renovation, and the Pluses and Minuses of Being Older and Wiser.

Rather enjoyable!

I’ve read all of Candace’s books and this one didn’t disappoint. This book is more biographical and nothing at all to do with the TV series. I’ve read a few unfair reviews from people expecting to find out what happens to Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte but this book doesn’t advertise itself as a follow up to the show. I’ve always found Candace’s work interesting and enjoyed the social commentary and observations she makes and there are some really humorous parts that had me giggling out loud. The performance was awesome and the narrator did a really good job of bringing the book to life. At times it was like listening to Samantha Jones but in an original way and not an imitation of Cattrall. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Bravo Candace!

Great middle age girl book

Took this on holiday and was a perfect easy listen by the pool… really enjoyed the male subgroup titles… actively now avoiding cubs and spouse child types…and nice to be the age of understanding the writer

Ok book

Great in some places, bit boring in others. A good holiday read if you’re a lady “over a certain age”
