About this listen
Dr. Jeff Martin has spent five years as a rural general practitioner on the Isle of Wight, hiding the fact he's gay. He travels in secret to see his partner, Tris, but when he discovers Tris has been cheating on him, he ends their relationship. Then Jeff meets island native Cameron Gillard. Cameron is down to earth and lively and treats Jeff like he's the most important person in his life. Jeff blooms under Cameron's attention, and he decides to come out to his colleagues and friends.
Just when things are going well, Tris reappears out of the blue. Jeff is no longer interested in Tris, but it seems he has two men to convince: Tris, who can't believe Jeff is serious about wanting to end their relationship, and Cameron, who can't hide his jealousy of Tris.
Jeff is certain about one thing: The only man he wants in his life is Cameron. Now he just needs to prove it to him.

Entertaining if unoriginal
Very easy listening. good narration. Story entirely derivative but passes the time. Good listening while out exercising.

Great story and narrator
What did you like most about Island Doctor?
The story here was great, I loved how the characters developed, especially the mc, Julian. Set in the Isle of Wight, this story kept me hooked all the way through.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Julian was great and I connected with him the most. He was sticking with what he wanted, despite the other half pressuring him to do something else, and became better off for it.
Which character – as performed by Adam Rivington – was your favourite?
Gran :) All the characters were well done, but I loved the way Adam voiced her.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed out loud a lot, and sat down when it was getting tense. This is a great story that keeps you listening.
