Summary

BOOK ONE OF THE GALLAGHERS OF ARDMORE TRILOGY

In Gallagher’s Pub, where the fire is burning low and the pints are waiting, #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts has a story to tell...

Determined to reevaluate her life, Jude Murray flees America to take refuge in Faerie Hill Cottage, immersing herself in the study of Irish folklore and discovering hope for the future of the magical past.

Finally back home in Ireland after years of traveling, Aidan Gallagher possesses an uncommon understanding of his country’s haunting myths. Although he’s devoted to managing the family pub, a hint of wildness still glints in his eyes - and in Jude, he sees a woman who can both soothe his heart and stir his blood. And he begins to share the legends of the land with her - while they create a passionate history of their own.

Not one of her best

Struggled with this book, which wasn't helped by the narrator. It sounded very flat, without the usual passion from the person telling the story. Giving up for now, and moving on to another book

Not good at all

Just couldn’t get into it, struggled to finish. Story line was predictable and poorly narrated.

Disappointing

Story interesting but shame the narrator’s accents became pitiful and annoying which detracted from the story.

Beautiful romance

Beautiful and romantic story based in Ireland with a little innocent magic to capture the reader. The narrator is brilliant. Can’t wait to read Book 2 and 3 in the trilogy.

This narrator is awful

This is a typical Nora Roberts novel. Exactly what you'd expect. Only one irritating thing; Irish people don't speak Gaelic, we speak Irish.
The really annoying bit was the narration. The "Irish" accents were horrendous. I have never heard an Irish person that sounded anything like this. It was actually painful.
Also, she manages to mispronounce every single Irish word.
I won't be getting the next two instalments because I can't stand this woman's narration.

Slow start

Been getting very into Nora roberts for the last couple of years, I found this a very slow starter, other people have complained about the narrator barring the nit great accent that didn’t bother me so much but maybe it’s why I found it a hard one to get into, once it picks up though I’ve found it really good and will be getting the next book, hopefully it keeps getting better

The story is nice, not exciting like other stories by the same author.

It was am easy listen and I liked the characters enough to buy the next book in the trilogy x

I loved this story

It was, for me, the most evocative book that I’ve heard in a very long time. The narrative was easy on the ear and the book itself is one that’d was brilliant.
