About this listen

Mystery writer Bethany Lange wasn't prepared for the twisting emotions that left her breathless the moment she laid eyes on folk singer sensation Ali Hart. Of course she was flat on her back and looking up and backward at the gorgeous singer, but that didn't stop her body and heart from bursting into a kaleidoscope of want, need, and lust. Scared at the intensity of her feelings, Bethany does everything she can to avoid Ali at Camp Jacomo, the camp designed specifically for children of lesbian and gay families where Bethany volunteers every summer. The camp director convinces the hottest singer at the moment, Ali Hart, to spend a week teaching the children music - to everybody's delight except Bethany's. On her last day at camp, Ali approaches Bethany with an offer of friendship, but they both know it's the prelude to something bolder. Should Bethany take the risk? Does she really believe she can balance her quiet, private life with Ali's outspoken one?

Mild Tremor

Straight forward ⏩ story that is somewhat saved by the twist near the end 🔚 ...
Nothing upsetting about the story but nothing shocking ...

Slow burn

It took me a while to get invested in the characters & story but I’m glad I did.
I really enjoyed how the story unfolded & the development of the characters . Was surprised by some of the more risqué sections but they fitted in well with the story.

Look forward to reading more.

Feels like listening to the diary of a teenage girl

Was an ok listen despite this. Once you notice the frequent use of the word jolt though you can’t unhear it. Also she uses the ‘p’ word, gross

Good

Picked this as an Audible included title. Great value and a good listen.
I liked the story and the characters this would have been very easy to listen in one session and Emily Michaels voice and performance, really good.
I will look for other titles by Kris Bryant.

just tell her

beautiful story of broken hearts finding new love, low angst yes, but with a little sadness learning to trust again. I've never yelled out as much as I have during this book, great writing from first person view, and I loved the narrators' voice & performance, a definite read again soon.

An ok listen

I quite enjoyed the book, but found the narration a little bit cheesy and i didn't feel like the age of the characters was very actuate and you could tell it was someone older writing it.

Worth a listen though.

Sometimes

Sometimes I like the main character Bethany and other times I want to slap her and say ‘get a backbone’. Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

Too similar to her other books

There is something missing from this story and that would be any kind of jolt of interest.
it is my intention to ignore this author based on her novels being repetitive and shallow. the same reason I NEVER buy anything by Radclyffe, there are way more excellent original authors with interesting books that capture ones imagination and are a satisfying read..
