About this listen
What happens when fate intertwines shifters from land and sea?
When Jonah Steele hung a flyer in the local coffee shop advertising his services as a housekeeper, he didn’t expect the town’s hot doctor to hire him on the spot. He definitely didn’t think he’d still be working for the mysterious older alpha two years later. But something about Dr. Pictou keeps Jonah returning to the big house on the cliff, a bone-deep longing he can’t explain—and recently, it’s been making Jonah crave the good doctor in ways he shouldn’t.
Dr. Edwin Pictou couldn’t say why he hired the young omega lynx to clean his house, but Jonah had ensnared him at first sight, and now, even though he really doesn’t need a housekeeper, the thought of letting Jonah go is unsettling. When Edwin comes home to find the omega—who he’s started to think of as his own—in heat, he realizes there is more at play than he first thought. Fate has intervened, and Edwin has no intention of ever letting Jonah go again.
Jonah and the Narwhal is the first story in the Land and Sea shifter MPREG series featuring fated mates, pleasurable partial shifts, and the beginnings of a found family. This story has been expanded from its original version into a full-length novel.

Good narration
A very cute story but that’s kind of it. A distraction for the moment and that is fine if that’s what you want!
Narration is good!

Sweet shifter romance
I first read Edwin and Jonah's story as part of a PNR novella giveaway, and I'm really happy the author chose to turn it into a full length story! This shifter fated mates romance was very sweet and satisfying, and it didn't take me long to fall head over heels for the main characters. I was a big fan of the buildup of sexual tension in the beginning, and though Edwin and Jonah's coupling happened in a haze of heat-induced longing, I was already convinced of their mutual attraction so it didn't feel rushed or uncomfortable. The two of them were so affectionate and sweet to each other, and I love how they took the time to really get to know each other even after their mate bond and pregnancy linked them together. I thought the shifter scenes were really cool--this is definitely the first time I've read about a narwhal shifter and I love how thoughtful the author was about the details. The second half of their story was very heavy on MPREG, but I also enjoyed the inclusion of Merritt and Everett as a side plotline. Without any angstiness that threatened the main couple's happiness, I stayed engaged in the slice of life storytelling and pregnancy progression all the way to its happy resolution.

Great start to the series
A fun & sweet with heat fated mates series, this couple's story starts things off; Jonah & Edwin are drawn to each other for awhile, but hold back until they can't resist any longer & then things spark & fire right up. Fate will not be denied, so look out friends Everett & Merrit, cuz I do believe you're next! I thoroughly enjoyed Jonah & the Narwhal, but I am very much looking forward to hearing about what happens on their friends' crazy world tour adventure. Great character writing, pacing, and storytelling -
Declan Winters performed /narrated this beautifully! Gotta love it when he gets all growly with the deeper alpha voices & his timing is spot on for emotional & humorous points in the story. Absolutely stellar job from both author and narrator to give us such an entertaining & endearing love story.

I loved how they didn’t realise they were mates until his heat, great connection and discovery between them. I can’t wait for the next book.

Instalove fated mates
I enjoyed the story, the narrator did a good job and I'll be looking for more narrated by him. This was a sweet mpreg fated mates story. I would have liked more story before they got together, I know they'd known each other for a couple of years, but I'd have liked to have seen more of them falling for each other rather than jumping straight in. I enjoyed the mpreg aspect and loved how they interacted the first time they shifted together.
I'm looking forward to the next book where both their friends figure out they are mates (I'm guessing that's the case anyway).

Really enjoyable listen
A very sweet, but steamy, mpreg, fated mates romance.
I've not read a lot of Vinni George's books, but they've been on my radar for a while, so when this came up in audio format, I jumped at the chance to listen to it. A great choice.
The narrator is new to me and had a lovely tone, fairly distinct voices for the characters, and a quality to the narration that kept me focused on the story. Sometimes the steamy moments can be offputting in audio, but this wasn't the case here.
As for the story, it's low angst with an accidental heat triggered by a few things. I really liked how things were explained. The author has clearly thought through the world-building and how everything works, so I never felt lost.
Both MC's were easy to relate to and even with their significant age gap, they worked well together. Their communication was top-notch, making the story just flow well.
The next book is nicely lined up and I hope it is available in audio format too.
Perfect if you just want an uncomplicated, steamy listen.

Fascinating & Delightfully Entertaining🎧📚🎧
I enjoyed this fated mates shifter romance novel immensely, the story is original with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are easy to relate with and connect with and I adored the two lead characters, Jonah Steele and Dr. Edwin Pictou, the two secondary characters, Merritt Lucas and Dr. Everett Vida, were great too. The shifter pairing is unique, Edwin, a Narwhal shifter and Jonah a lynx, Edwin was taken with Jonah the moment he saw him and the reason why he hired him to clean his house, he wanted him close. Something was changing with Jonah and triggering his heat, and it got more intense while in Dr. Pictou’s house, so it was a good thing he was a doctor and he could find out what was wrong. The doctor knew nothing was wrong, it was common to mate outside their species, but it happens and that is exactly what goes on here, but how will it work, no worries there the doctor is on it and he brings in his friend, Everett, who specialized in shifter genetic. There is never a dull moment in this book, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. The story has the perfect balance of drama, charming humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Vinni George, thank you for this fabulously entertaining story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 The fabulously talented Declan Winters did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, understood who he was portraying, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who was who. I loved how he took each role and made it his own, sounding believable and just as i imagined the characters to sound. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. Winters is an entertaining storyteller and his performance elevates this story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Entertaining, sweet and steamy, fated mates
I enjoyed this low-angst sweet and steamy fated mates story. It's the start of a series and describes the unexpected love of a mixed pairing of a sea-shifter and a land-shifter. I enjoyed the unique and creative way the author managed the different realities and needs of the different shifter types, and how the omega's needs changed to accommodate (or because of) the baby he carried. The sex was a bit much for me, so reader beware, there is a lot, and it kind of overshadowed the story for me. I could have done with less talk about slick. LOL
The narration was good, and it was easy to distinguish the voices of the various characters.
