Brilliant and wise
Few people talk about the inner workings of the busy mind as well as Dr. Amy Johnson. Throughout the book there are countless brilliant as well as easy to recognize examples from daily life, metaphors, client- and personal stories, supported by scientific explanations about the evolution and function of the brain. I really saw at a much deeper level, listening to this, how mechanical and unpersonal my mind is, and how it is only doing its best to protect me (from what it has made up is dangerous). Thank you for a truly inspiring book.

I loved it
I’m going to come back to this one. Just the title and its repetition in my head helps to deal with some of the recurring tormenting thoughts :)

Nice set of stories
Some really good points made in this,
Mixed occasionally with a plug for her website and the little school of big change (but who can blame her) - there’s a bunch of free resources on there as well as paid for content too.
One downside I noticed is it was all internalisations that started the issues raised in the stories and examples, but what if it’s an external source such as an unfair dismissal or exile from a successful career path/ tribe, or struggling to deal with incomprehensible loss.
Still though it gets 4/5, would recommend.

Game changer!
So many "penny drop" moments. Amy manages to blow your mind in a safe and loving way, leaving you reeling with a complete reunderstanding of thought and an unfamiliar sense of deep peace, contentment and gratitude. Will be buying a copy for my family and friends!

Waste of time
This is a personal belief system at most, and doesn't seem to have to do with psychology at all. Not even a drop of science, just a repetitive persuasion that somehow your entire thought mechanism is not what you are. Weird, because the author uses a couple of examples of how the same separation of one's self and one's thought applies also when you think of yourself in positive terms. Really, such an unbelievable wishy-washy waste of time that I actually stopped my car to return the book after 12 chapters.
