Summary
What happens in Vegas....
Will Tawera doesn't do commitment, except on the rugby field. Moving to Las Vegas to become a kicker for the NFL would be a big change from New Zealand rugby, but then, he's ready for a change. And when he's asked to do a little modeling on the side? Thousands of dollars to hold a beautiful blonde while looking dark, dangerous, tattooed, and Maori? He could do that.
Faith Goodwin doesn't do dark, dangerous men. Especially not when they make her laugh, take her miniature golfing with four-year-olds, and are far too sexy and sweet for comfort. But when Will finds himself in hot water back in New Zealand, who's he going to call? And who would be able to resist answering?

Disappointing addition to a great series
I love most of this series, but unfortunately this is a dud.
Will is a professional All Black from New Zealand who weirdly decides to pose for erotic photos in Vegas – fully aware that All Blacks have very strict codes of conduct. The excuse was he needed the money, but then he flies home first class, and one of his mortgaged homes is a beachside house in Auckland – hardly the choices of someone worried about their cashflow. Faith, the photographer’s assistant, thinks creating a website of erotic photos to go with stories submitted by the public, is a credible career option, and not actually soft porn. Long sections of the story are Faith’s own erotic fantasy, which is distracting and does not add anything to the story. There is lots of fun and flirting between Will and Faith, but I just did not feel any great emotion. Side characters were confusing. I though Faith’s mother was awful, especially the way she spoke to Will the first time they met. Will’s mother is openly hostile, and a story line about Will’s brother is hinted and then just forgotten. And I could not figure the whole website idea. Faith seemed to be the website creator and developer, but somehow had no power to remove a photo? She becomes financially solvent after writing one online story? And as the internet is full of explicit photos, what was so unique about the ones of Will that made them irreplaceable?
Although Will and Faith flirt a lot, and Will is keen on a holiday fling, they both go their separate ways after a few weeks and have no contact for months. Hardly an irresistible attraction. They are reunited when Will’s photos cause problems in NZ, and his agent decides a “fake fiancé” will somehow fix things. Faith duly flies out and is greeted by his unwelcoming family, with totally clueless Will deciding that living in the family home would make a great holiday for her, while he concentrates on his fitness regime. Wonderful. Particularly the part where she spent the day cleaning bathrooms in an effort to get his mother to treat her with some friendliness. And I loved the part where we find that Will has a supply of condoms next to the bed in the home he shares with his mother, sister, grandmother…… Meanwhile, even while in NZ, Faith continues to post online erotic fiction with Will’s photos, which she decides is ok as she uses a fake name.
The sex in this book did not feel authentic. Suddenly going into BDSM territory, Will skipped the wining, dining and romancing to rush Faith to a motel for a few hours with ‘lets get started’ and ‘go and have a shower’ as his version of foreplay. Wow. So romantic. The ending just brushed aside the fact that Faith did nothing to remove the troublesome photos from a website that she created, even commenting that these supposedly unique photos, had now been released as stock images for anyone to use!

Vegas meets New Zealand and it's great listening
Such fun listening to this book!
Here's a funny thing too - I loved reading it but I loved listening MORE!
Will's teasing is irresistible, as is his irrepressible charm, occasional awkwardness and when he stuffs up, it's even better. Plus, he does a good occasional line in dark and dangerous.
Sure, Faith has taken advantage of him, but who could blame her? Well, maybe a teeny bit. But she' s pretty great, so we forgive her.
The background double story thread can be occasionally distracting but it adds light and shade. You should be aware that steamy reading makes even steamier listening.
The narration is masterful - full of variation, expression, great accenting. How does Claire Bocking put laughter into voices? How does she make Will sound so sexy?
Vegas meets New Zealand and it makes great listening.
I received a free copy of this audiobook in return for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way or obliged to be honest.
Luckily I loved it!
