Excellent insight!

What made the experience of listening to KP: The Autobiography the most enjoyable?

Obviously a very frank and at times revealing and painful account of a fine international player.

What was one of the most memorable moments of KP: The Autobiography?

The humiliating way KP was subjected to apologising to each player individually and the delay/preparation for one particular player.

What does Byron Mondahl bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Excellent narration but it would have been far better read by KP.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Admiration for KP who can admit to the mistakes/misjudgements he may have made as a professional but utter disbelief at his treatment by many in English cricket. Shameful.

Genius or Victim - Probably a bit of both

Where does KP: The Autobiography rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's not my best ever audio book but I really enjoyed listening to KJ's side of the story. I thought I new the KP stroy from the press and media but this book certainly put me straight.

What was one of the most memorable moments of KP: The Autobiography?

KP's honesty about the people who run the ECB and the honest, sometimes brutal, truth about what he thought of them... personally and professionally

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Sure it made me laugh, not the real, laughing out loud type... more a chuckle (and at time anger) as KP describe the "behind the scenes" antics of some of his fellow players and what he thought about them. I'd like to read the same story from some of the other players involved!

Any additional comments?

If you like cricket, and want to little insight into some of the goings on around the England team and the ECB, you will really enjoy this.... there is some self pitty (by KP), but it's good listening!

Interesting

As a South African living in the UK I was never much of fan of KP during his playing years. But I thoroughly enjoyed this and getting a new and very different insight to the man the player and yes the ego.
Would highly recommend this if you’re a cricketer or a fan of the fantastic game

Blimey what a whinge

Good accurate accent - that even as a South African grates after a while - but KP really has some serious confidence issues. Exhausting!

initially I felt sympathy for his position. I am sure that as a naturally introverted man surrounded by a dressing room full of cheeses and egos all colliding at speed his life with England was a painful one. But after chapter after chapter of self-pitying whining I really started to lose the plot.

I will focus on his amazing batting not his personality....

Good insight and entertaining but a little whingy

Doesn't hold back on dressing room dirt which lets face it is what we all want to learn about

In depth story about tensions between KP and Flower/Prior

Excellent authentic South African accent narration

Entertaining but left with a feeling of how detached and out of touch celebrities are compared with us general public, you feel like showing these guys real people with real problems worth fussing over

Overall one of the better autobiographies, avoids the usual rags to riches drivel

The ego has landed.

This wasn't a bad e book. Although it gave me mixed feelings towards the end. Part of me felt sorry for the way he was treated by the ECB and some of his teammates, they didn't look after him and forced him out of English cricket. On the other hand he could have handled it better, massive ego who was almost never wrong. Worth a listen

Hard to rate as it is such a self-parody

Really enjoyable from a comic perspective. The chapter about the Big Cheese Matt Prior is both obsessive and hilarious. So much of this book is pure Alan Partridge and I'm surprised that chapters don't end with needless to say I had the last laugh. In many ways a great player but he obviously became so focussed on his disputes with the ECB that he reduces some of his achievements such as the 2005 Ashes innings at the Oval to mere footnotes.
