About this listen
All four series of the popular follow-up to King Street Junior
King Street Junior and its sequel, King Street Junior Revisited, ran for 20 years and 100 episodes between 1985 and 2005, and were among the BBC’s most successful and popular radio programmes.
In these four series, we return to the inner-city primary in the new millennium. A different Head is in charge, but the challenges remain the same: from planning a big fundraising concert, to searching for a truant, to coping with wintry weather and a disappearing lollipop lady.
In addition, the teachers contend with personal and professional upheavals as Mr Maxwell’s attempts to maintain playground order land him in trouble, Mr Long suffers a painful little problem, Miss Featherstone is arrested – and a surprise awaits the staff as they return from their summer holidays.
But King Street Junior continues to survive and thrive, and as the series draws to a close, the children and teachers prepare to celebrate the centenary of the school’s foundation.
Written by the award-winning Jim Eldridge, this acclaimed sitcom stars Carolyn Pickles as Mrs Devon, Marlene Sidaway as Miss Lewis and Brigit Forsyth as Mrs Eastwood, with a guest appearance from James Grout as Mr Beeston.

Brilliant listen, thoroughly enjoyed it
Really loved listening to this series. The Characters and storylines are so varied and in keeping with topics at that time, there were a lot of things I could relate to but also quite a few that were new to me and put a different light on the teaching profession. All in all the series were really well executed and whilst I thought the original King Street Junior was funnier, I liked that these series didn't try to copy the previous one in that aspect, but had their own spin on it. Also, some reviews from last year mention that Chapter 1 and 4 are the same as Chapter 4 was duplicated and Chapter 1 didn't exist in this recording. This must have been rectified in the meantime as my recording is absolutely fine, nothing has been duplicated.

A delightful story about school life.
Very enjoyable indeed. I was sorry when it came to an end and that there weren’t more episodes in which to immerse myself.

Excellent
Loved this series, kept to the original idea and nicely updated to take account of more current trends etc. The humour was a bit more subtle than the original but overall very satisfying in all areas, I hope the BBC will commission more of the same. 10\10.

Kings Street Junior for Ever!
I have both Kings street Junior and the revisited series.
I prefer the first series, but both are great to have on in the background. More like this please!

Episode mix up
I enjoy the series, but frustrated that like other reviews mention that episode 1 is missing, but you get episode 4 twice. This seems to be a recurring theme with a few audiobooks from BBC Audio, which is a shame. Audible say they can't do anything.

Not a patch on original
My main grip is that all it says it is a complete series CHP 1 and CHP 4 are the same . Also apart from mr long ang miss Lewis (who provide some continuity from original) not of the other characters match up especially Mr Maxwell who seems out of place.
every disappointed!
