About this listen
Now Lee is free from the malevolent ghost of Morris Hawke, his clairvoyant gifts are expanding fast. Too fast for comfort, and he and Gideon find themselves wrestling with his unsettling capacity to see the future. In some ways this new power is wonderful, and Lee finds himself a local hero after predicting a flood.
But there's one aspect he can't bear, and that's the blind spot he sees when he thinks about the wedding plans he and Gideon have started to make. It's as if this event, which he wants more than life, simply isn't going to happen. He's troubled and stressed out, and Gideon decides to intervene, whisking him off to an isolated creekside cabin in the mysterious Cornish ria country. All is peaceful there, and the clamour in Lee's head subsides. It's time for companionship, peace, good food, and plenty of sex....
Then a young man wanders out of the woods and turns their blissed-out retreat into chaos. Kitto is harmless - a charming drifter, very handsome. To Gideon he's just a kid, flesh and blood and a bit of a nuisance. But Lee reacts with horror. Since when can Gideon - Lee's rock, his connection to the real world and sanity - see ghosts?
Mysterious midsummer is rising in the deep green Cornish countryside, and as the village gears up for the eerie Golowan festival, Lee and Gideon face their toughest case yet: a battle between the real and spirit worlds that threatens to tear their own apart.

A few errors on this one....
Enjoying the way Tim Gilbert is voicing Gideon and Lee, but there were some noticeable errors in this one which should surely have been picked up before release. The usual small character swap of voices I can understand but Lorna Kemp, the little girl abducted in Once Upon A Haunted Moor, was called LAURA Kemp for practically the whole of this audio AND why did Ray Tregear's voice change after Gideon and Lee's wedding?? He went from stoned and growly to high pitched and weird??

Breathtaking and fascinating
It seemed a straight forward story with predictable development and outcome and some spiritual folklore and romance thrown in. Never just guess or suggest though it always comes different than planned or expected. This story turned out as quite the rollercoaster with lots of surprising turns and nothing to complain about that one. I was glad that in the end all turned out unexpected but very much appreciated. And the path to the ending was full of nail biting sidestrokes full of suspense and thrills and anxious tension which didn’t let me pause the reading before I was finally satisfied with all what happened and all what will happen hopefully in future. Cannot wait to get to the next part.

Worrying moments
Just when you think all is going well things get nasty and moments of horror befall the couple of lovers, hot sex in the open is the lightening. moments of this dark episode. Cant wait to find out what befalls them in the on going story.

Another fantastic book in the series
I am, absolutely, loving this series. I keep thinking this would be a great TV programme and I keep imagining Zachary Quinto as Lee, not because he is gay but because I can fully imagine him being able to bring Lee's character alive on the screen with all its depth and softness. Can't think of anyone so far who can play Gideon. I am going to be quite sad once I finish this series as I'll miss my daily dose of Lee and Gideon. I am already a third way through the next book and had to stop and write the review for this one as that one is already extremely emotional and heart breaking.

Nice listen
Lovely story and I have been hooked to the series. start for this story is strong and promising. Towards the later second half, it got a bit dragging.

It was very difficult to stop listening: I didn’t.
I loved the broadening of the protagonists’ relationship- deep from the earliest, and enjoyed the unfolding of the ably crafted story.
Well written and well narrated.

Yet another slam dunk for Fox
As a 4th installment in the series, this book might initially appear as a slow character development instalment analysing their weaknesses and strengthening their bond through conflict. Around a third way through things hit the fan as they say and we are back in business with creepy folk rituals, horrific and sometimes beautifully so imagery, Gideon being a badass once again and very high stakes. While the protagonists suffer from a condition called: can't take a break from plot, I am not complaining in the slightest. The narration is perfect as usual and if you are a fan of the series then off on another Cornwall adventure we go!!!
