About this listen

Escape to France with Late Summer in the Vineyard - Jo Thomas' irresistible follow-up to The Oyster Catcher and The Olive Branch.

Emmy Bridges has always looked out for others. It's time she put down roots of her own.

Working for a winemaker in France is the opportunity of a lifetime for Emmy. Even if she doesn't know a thing about wine beyond what's on offer at the local supermarket. There's plenty to get to grips with in the rustic town of Petit Frère.

Emmy's new work friends need more than a little winning over. Then there's her infuriatingly brash tutor, Isaac, and the enigmatic Madame Beaumont tucked away in her vineyard of secrets. But Emmy will soon realise that in life - just as in winemaking - the best things happen when you let go and trust your instincts. Particularly when there's romance in the air....

Fabulous

This is one of the best audio books I have listened to (and I have listened to a huge amount). It is funny and eventful, exciting in places and sad in others. The characters are marvellous, there’s lots to learn about the pitfalls and triumphs of winemaking, and a little bit of history as well. Really, really good, and the narration is absolutely brilliant too!

This book tells a tale that one could relate to and makes one wonder if it is biographical

A story that held my attention without patronizing. The main character could be living and working in any city or town with the same problems in her life with with any luck an opportunity arises that could change her life too. A gentle read.

Made me fall in love with French and Wine

Beautiful performance/production, and I often felt planted, like one of the vines, in the story. Made me 'feel' each of the characters, even the horse and the dog!

Beautiful story: I worried, laughed, smiled, and cried all through.

Not only grapes growing in the vineyard

Not the most exciting story line I've ever read/listened to but very enjoyable and entertaining . Informative about wine and vineyards, the story benefits from the details the author passes on . A classic romance well written and very well narrated .Highly recommended for easy listening .

Really great audio book!

I really enjoyed this audio, I liked the story very much, the twists and the turns were good.
The descriptions were imaginative and I was taken there whilst listening as I did the housework!
The narrator, Rachel Atkins was good, she had a great accent too.
I would recommend this audio.

Riveting!

Brilliant narration. Interesting storyline. No blatant sexual content which I found refreshing. I shall probably listen to it again one day.
