Great for intermediate learning.
The narrator's are fun and engaging and the accompanying PDF is really useful. Unlike some other reviewers I find the focus on grammar very useful in helping take the next step to an intermediate understanding of the Italian language.

Brilliant to have intermediate/advanced levels!
I like the format of these lessons: a short conversation by native Italians, the conversation again with translations, then a short discussion of a grammar point with examples, and finally a few words picked out to listen to and practice. But what makes these courses stand out above all the others is that they have gone to the trouble to create intermediate and advanced levels too ... which is brilliant! Thank you so much innovative language learning! My only suggestions for improvements would be: to say "speaking formal Italian" every time rather than "speaking in formal Italian" which is confusing. And to make sure the chunks of conversation before each translation are nice and short.

good
about the right level though I think it would be improved by instant repeat rather than waiting to repeat at the end of the section

For grammar lovers
Please stop saying "speaking informal Italian" because it sounds like "speaking in formal Italian" so is confusing. Better to say " they will speak in informal Italian "

An odd balance of detail
It seems strange to me that any book at intermediate level or below would just use Italian speach spoken only at full speed.
it's also strange that a book steeped so deeply in grammar and conjugations of verbs in their conditional, subjunctive and multiple tense forms would skip most of this in their vocab and review sections and instead tell us that the Italian word "film" means "movie" and that the Italian word "spaghetti" is (wait for it) "spaghetti".
The balance of the book is all over the place and, as an audio book, it moves far too quickly.
I like the narrators though.

Great if you want to learn about grammar
This book is made up of lots of short chapters, each one of which starts with a short conversation which is then broken down. The conversations are useful, and the listener is introduced to a few new words each time. However, there is then a very heavy grammar lesson at the end of each conversation, which talks in great detail about past imperfect tense and subordinate conjunctives etc. As I just want to learn Italian so I can get by while on holiday there, I felt this was completely irrelevant and very boring. I have also downloaded a Paul Noble audio book to learn Italian which was so much better.
