About this listen
Curtis LeMay was a terrifying, complex, and brilliant general. In World War II, he ordered the firebombing of Tokyo and was in charge when atomic bombs were dropped on Japan. He was responsible for tens of thousands of civilian deaths, a fact he liked to celebrate by smoking Cuban cigars. But LeMay was also the man who single-handedly transformed the American Air Force from poorly trained and badly equipped pilots into one of the fiercest weapons of the war. Over the last decades, most U.S. military missions have been carried out entirely through use of the Air Force. This is LeMay's legacy.

A good read but..........
A good read if you're still interested in this era of aviation but....
it's tiresomely "Murican!!" It purports that Lemay was the greatest ever living human, invented by "Murica!" the greatest nation ever in the history of the universe..... ever!
No other nation gets any mention other than their ineptness.
Historical technical inaccuracies abound, and apparently the Americans invented everything first despite evidence that probably best otherwise.
If you can look beyond all this, the story of Curtis Lemay's life and career are very interesting and demonstrate his rightful place as a significant force in air power.
