Great story and narration, poor editing!

Die Geschichte ist hervorragend und bringt eine erfrischend neue Prämisse mit sich. Bross’ Erzählung ist wie immer erstklassig, aber die Bearbeitung des Hörbuchs lässt leider zu wünschen übrig. Die Handlung enthält Zeitsprünge und Perspektivwechsel, aber der Schnitt schafft es nicht, diese Übergänge klar von normalen Satzenden abzugrenzen. Dadurch musste ich jedes Mal, wenn die Geschichte zu einem anderen Zeitpunkt springt, kurz überlegen, wo und an welchem Zeitpunkt wir uns gerade befinden. Manchmal war es auch nicht sofort ersichtlich, aus wessen Perspektive die Geschichte gerade erzählt wird. Das hat das Hörerlebnis für mich leider deutlich getrübt.

The story is excellent and quite unique. Martin Bross‘ narration is top-notch, as always, but the audiobook’s editing leaves much to be desired. The story features time jumps and character switches, but the editing fails to differentiate these shifts from the end of a normal sentence. As a result, whenever the story jumps to another point in time, it always took me a moment to figure out where and to what point in time of the story had shifted to. At times, it wasn’t even clear which character’s perspective the story was being told from. This issue genuinely lessened the overall experience for me.
