About this listen

Fifty-five years ago, Helen L. Taylor took John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress and simplified the vocabulary and concepts for young listeners while keeping the storyline intact. The result was a classic in itself, which has now sold over 600,000 copies.

It's both a simple adventure story and a profound allegory of the Christian journey through life, a delightful listen with a message kids ages six to 12 can understand and remember. A new look for today's children enlivens the journey to the Celestial City.

Very good

I love the original Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan, it's up there with my top 10 favourite books ever. I was looking forward to listening to this version. I was not disappointed. She adapted the book so delightfully. Loved it.

Excellently narrated wonderful story

Now one of my favourite stories alongside Narnia. Captured attention and imagination of all ages from 4y to adult. Very moving allegory. Voices very well acted. Can’t recommend enough. Will be relistening soon.

Pilgrim's progress

My 10 year old son and I loved this book. The narrator is very good and you get lost in the story. Definitely recommend

Pilgrims progress.

I loved the end of the story so much because I love the bit where Cristina goes through the river. I would like to go to the place Christina's little sister goes. Jesus went to see her.

Incredible

This story and the narration is incredibly good and uplifting. It really engages all ages (in our family 5yrs up to 40): it is exciting, it teaches good character, builds courage. In fact, our family has decided to listen to this at least once a year. The kids understood and interpreted all the values clearly, and it taught them how to evaluate character and meanings behind actions.

I cannot recommend it highly enough.
