Dimitrij Rostovskij proslavilsja kak plodotvornyj cerkovnyj avtor - sostavitel' sbornikov zhitij svjatyh (naibolee izvestnyj, v chetyreh knigah - "Chet'i-Minei"). Rabota nad zhitijami svjatyh byla nachata 6 maja 1684 goda i prodolzhalas' v techenie 20 let. Evdokija Iliopol'skaja (um. ok. 160-170 godov) - rannehristianskaja svjataja, pochitaemaja kak prepodobnomuchenica. Pamjat' v Pravoslavnoj cerkvi sovershaetsja 1 marta (po julianskomu kalendarju), v Katolicheskoj cerkvi - 1 marta. Evdokija po proishozhdeniju byla samarjankoj, prozhivala v finikijskom gorode Geliopole. Otlichalas' krasotoj i buduchi bludnicej zarabotala ogromnoe sostojanie. Byla obrashhena v hristianstvo monahom Germanom. Soglasno zhitiju, prinjatiju eju kreshhenija predshestvovalo javlenie Evdokii arhangela Mihaila, kotoryj vyrval ejo iz lap satany.
