Summary

Vampires in Burberry? Well, that sucks!

Welcome to the Lost Souls ParaAgency, where agents work together to ensure the safety of humans and to prevent exposure of the paranormal community.

The Assignment - observe and report on Burberry’s most reluctant witch, Ally Walker.

Sidney Cross is serving out his probation for some blood-sucking crimes committed in the early 1900s. On loan to the LSP, he’s one assignment away from working off his debt. All he has to do is monitor an elementary school teacher who refuses to acknowledge her witch ancestry and make sure she stays that way. With a charmed amulet that allows him to roam free during the day, and a witch who has zero interest in magic, this humdrum assignment should be a piece of cake. What could possibly go wrong?

Thanks to a water pipe mishap at Ally Walker’s elementary school (which may or may not have been caused by her younger sister) she’s got a four-day, school-free weekend. Add that her sisters and great-aunts are headed off to the woods for a magic retreat, and Ally couldn’t be happier to fill in at the Tea Haven. Until the mayor decides to host a couple of famous illusionist YouTubers and Ally is volun-told to oversee their show. The fake magic brings more trouble than Ally needs.

Then a mysterious man ends up in Tea Haven’s freezer, and it looks like he’s been relieved of his blood. Sidney is reluctant to call in the LSP since he’s pretty certain he’s first on the suspect list. He needs Ally’s help, and he won’t take no for an answer.

All Ally wants is a normal existence without all the paranormal, but Sidney definitely brings out her witchy side in more ways than one. She’ll do whatever it takes to get him out of her life.

To put things right, they’ll work together to solve this blood-sucking mystery before Burberry turns into a town of terror. Again.

I received this book from Audiobooks Unleashed for free in exchange for a honest review.

Unlike the the previous book in the series I was straight into this story and thoroughly enjoyed it,

Very easy listening at only 3 hours long with great characters and with Carrie Coello narrating, whats not to like. I am now looking forward to the next mystery in the series and learning more about the Walker family witches and their escapades.

Fun and entertaining

I received this book free for an honest review.

The lost souls paraAgency protects humans and prevents the exposure of paranormal.
Sidney Cross is serving probation for vampire crimes he made in the early 1900’s and he’s on loan to the LSP.
He’s been sent to watch Ally Walker who is a reluctant witch whilst her sisters are out of town but things don’t go quite as planned for either them.
Great series fun and the story line and characters are great.

A quirky bite with your book

I enjoyed this book. This is book 3 and it's the turn of another sister to find love. They are stand alone stories but I think it is best listened to in order because otherwise you miss out on a lot of back story, that helps with the enjoyment of this one. The characters are fun and each book focuses on a different sister, all of which are very different from each other but it continues from where the last book left off so the others still play apart in the story. The mystery was good and I liked the way the main characters powers played apart in solving the mystery or getting them out of trouble. It's just a fun listen, that I hope continues, if only to find out what the three aunts are up to.
Ally is left in charge of her sisters cafe, while her two sisters and three aunts are off on a witches retreat. Ally has no wish to join them and In fact doesn't want to even acknowledge her witchy powers, she has turned her back on the whole thing to become a teacher. With everybody away from the village the Lost souls paragency council decide that Ally will need some guarding and send in probation recruit Sidney Cross, a vampire that is on probation for his crimes. He just needs to stay in the shadow and keep an eye on her for any trouble. Things don't go to plan when the mayor's estranged husband if found dead in Ally's kitchen with bite marks in his neck. Sidney is worried that the LSP will blame him, as the only vampire in the area and convinces Ally that the two of them can solve the murder themselves if only given a little time. With the clock ticking the pair must investigate two YouTube bloggers, as well as the mayor herself. Will they be able to find out who or what killed the man now hidden in Ally freezer?
I have listened to a number of books read by Carrie Coello and think she has done an excellent job with each one, good voices and enough emotion or excitement to keep the book she is reading enjoyable.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request from audiobooksunleashed and have voluntarily left this review.

SO good! So so so good!!!

Where books 1 were mainly about Amira and Lex, this book is about Sidney and Ally. And Sidney? Well… he’s a vampire! On probation! And Ally? She’s one of the Walker sisters: so she’s a witch! A reluctant witch, but a witch all the same!

What could possibly go wrong? When that question is asked, you know everything is going to go wrong! Magical mayhem, a vampire who’s paying his debt, a reluctant witch who wants to have nothing to do with magic, fake magic, real magic, innocent magic, dangerous magic, and now: a body without blood. Or, at least, with less blood than it should have. It looks like the work of a vampire. Whoops. And all Ally wants is no magic. But clearly, that’s too much to ask.

This was a humorous story. Which I absolutely LOVED. The pages turned themselves! A quick read. It was well-written, funny, suspenseful and more-ish. It was awesome awesome awesome! I SO LOVED IT! When Sidney and Ally first meet, that part was sooo funny. It was just SO good! A great mystery, and also some lovely, heartwarming romance.

The narrator did a great job! Pleasant, understandable.

And a bonus short story from Ris at the end!
