About this listen
There are three things you need to know about Sandra Fielding:
1) She makes all her first dates cry,
2) She hasn't been kissed in over two years, and
3) She knows how to knit.
Sandra has difficulty removing her psychotherapist hat. Of her last 30 dates, 29 have ended the same way: the man sobbing uncontrollably. After one such disaster, Sandra gives in to a seemingly harmless encounter with her hot waiter, Alex. Argumentative, secretive, and hostile, Alex may be the opposite of everything Sandra knows is right for her. But now, the girl who has spent all her life helping others change for the better; must find a way to cope with falling for someone who refuses to change at all.
Love Hacked is book three in the Knitting in the City series. Each book is a stand-alone, full length (110k words) contemporary romantic-comedy novel, and follows the misadventures and exploits of seven friends in Chicago, all members of the same knitting group.

🎧 Sandra and Alex 🎧
Unusual and quirky, like its characters, the story kept me engaged.
Easily read as a standalone in the KITC series.
The whole book is single POV by Joy Nash, with only the epilogue narrated by Zachary Webber.

Perfect.
This is my first Penny Reid novel. From the description, I didn't think it was my cup of tea. But wow!!! Alex was definitely something to behold!
This book was included in my Audible subscription, and I really enjoyed Joy Nash's narration. Truth be told I found the last couple of chapters a tiny bit cringy for my liking, but the rest was soooo good, I'm still calling it perfect!

very entertaining
Really enjoyed the story and characters, but kept waiting for Zachary Webber's voice to appear! Don't get me wrong, Joy Nash was excellent , but I prefer the alternate chapters approach of the male and female voices, especially when two narrators are billed. so quite disappointed he only made the last 5 minutes.

Overall good but not extraordinary
It's not the best romance story by any means, but it is a good one with enjoyable characters and a pretty interesting story, the pacing can be strange at times however and can feel rather slow at points, as if the author is trying to find ways to keep it going for longer.
The narrator is good but when I heard the narrator for the epilogue I immediately decided against listening to that part.
If you want an enjoyable and interesting romance story without using any credits, I'd recommend this one.

Couldn't stick with it
It takes 12 years to qualify as a psychiatrist. The heroine is a psychiatrist, aged 28. 8 chapters in, there's no reference to her being an academic prodigy. This bugged me so much that I couldn't continue. And if you're stopping to Google facts immediately you start a book that's probably a sign that you're not very engaged. Also, I'm over being told how mesmerising heroes are from the first moment they appear. It leaves me with nothing to do, imagination-wise. I found my mind wandering and then I stopped reading.
