Possibly my favourite from the Dirty/Player series
I read this on kindle a while ago, but decided to give the audible a whirl, and I’m so pleased I did. It holds up on a second go around and the voice narration adds to the story really well.
Carey is broken, and in a black hole trying his very best not to sink deeper. Given I have suffered with anxiety and completely recognise how if you don’t keep pushing yourself your world becomes so narrow it can almost cease to exist, as such I really related to Carey’s struggle. Taylor is in many respects his opposite and as such his perfect match.
This isn’t the usual, meet, resist, get together, break up, get back together at the end, it’s different to the usual. Carey’s MO is to push people away, Taylor’s MO is to challenge and cut thru the BS. Eventually it leads to a HEA. This isn’t a usual Rock Star romance, in that when we first meet Carey he is a fallen rockstar, but with a Producer’s star on the rise. His pit of despair is a mental struggle, but he is functioning very well in his chosen work role. He isn’t even an alpha (which makes a change) but that just makes him more intriguing and more sexy imho. Taylor is between jobs, between bfs, a little bit lost and lonely herself in that her bff recently go married and she appears to be quite lonely and at a crossroads. It’s set up so Carey can be saved by Taylor, but I think Carey does some saving of his own.
This is possibly my favourite from the Dirty/Player series, except maybe the first Dirty book about Jessie and Katie. Although this is a stand alone I think you need to have read the previous in order to appreciate all the characters. I confess I haven’t managed to complete all the previous ones as some of the stories didn’t grip me (Dylan) but I’ve read most.
Narration was great, and both nailed the characters.
Well worth a credit.

A brilliant story. I couldn't put it down.
Lovely Madness is a beautiful must read story. I read an ARC copy and I had to get the audio version. I enjoyed it better listening, the narration was perfectly fitting for the story 👌
Cary's story is so touching, it brings out so many different emotions while I read.
Life can be so unpredictable and painful at time, especially when you loose your only life line. I think this story is relatable to a lot of people and there are lots of information that is very useful in the story.
Taylor's character is brilliant and I love how the relationship progressed between her and Cary, it really highlighted how hard it was for Cary to work through his difficulties and how patient Taylor had to be before she could get him to push pass his fears enough to really make a change. His sister and friends were also brilliant and was a vital part in supporting the couple.
I will definitely be listening to this book again.
Danica's text to Matt!! Is it the start of something happening between them? Will Ashley join in.. will Matt's book be next. I need more of Donica and Ashley!!

wow
what a beautifully written book.
I'm not going to say anything about the storyline. But as someone who rarely cries at a book this was definitely the exception.
was routing for Cary and Taylor the whole way through.
it's a must read.

Such a stunning read
I’ve read/listened to the whole series including the dirty series more than 8 times and will probably double that. This story made me laugh and cry and includes my fav song give me shelter which I’ve been planning to ink on myself too.
