Summary

From the imaginations of best-selling authors Holly Black and Cassandra Clare comes a heart-stopping plunge into the magical unknown.

Think you know magic?

Think again.

The Magisterium awaits....

Most people would do anything to get into the Magisterium and pass the Iron Trial.

Not Callum Hunt.

Call has been told his whole life that he should never trust a magician. And so he tries his best to do his worst - but fails at failing.

Now he must enter the Magisterium. It's a place that's both sensational and sinister. And Call realizes it has dark ties to his past and a twisty path to his future.

The Iron Trial is just the beginning. Call’s biggest test is still to come....

great book- but a warning if you live in the UK

Where does Magisterium: The Iron Trial rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

A fantastic book and couldn't wait to listen to the sequels. Now left utterly disappointed that they are not available in the UK!!
Feel like I wasted my time buying this book!

Really got into it...

Started a bit unoriginally, but it got going quickly and kept the pace up! A good fantasy book... Now I'm just left wanting more!

Great book ruined by a terrible narrator

I love Cassandra Clare, and was looking forward to this Audible only to discover the robotic narrator, whom i’d encountered before i think, maze runner, Paul Boehmer, the guy has no feeling, and a really annoying voice. Will avoid his books henceforth

Entertaining but...

Enjoyed the book but it lacked the depth and richness of Harry Potter and the excitement of the Shadow Hunter stories. Nevertheless I was sufficiently entertained to move on to the next in the series.

Great story. Weird AI like narrator

Enjoyed the story but narrator sounds like an AI voice. Weird pronunciation of a bunch of words, especially “Cal” said as call not a short version of Callum, and stalagmites!

Horrible narrator

I don’t believe the narrator is an actual person. This sounds just like some robot reading. No one speaks like this.

Good story, terrible narration

I’m about halfway through this story and had already anticipated that I’d love it so purchased all of the audiobooks, which I’m now seeing was a terrible idea. The narrator is absolutely awful - there’s pauses for no reason, inflections in the wrong places and generally an utterly tedious listening experience. Don’t even get me started on the narrators inability to say the name Callum. I listed to this thinking the name was something like Kurt. Just awful. Will read the books myself and hope they do what they did with The Invisible Library.

good storyline, boring narrator

I enjoyed the book, intriguing storyline although sometimes bonds between characters were a little unrealistic/ unexpalined. Excited to see where the story goes...awful narrator though, definitely worth recording with someone less irritating and dull
