Summary

International number one best-selling author Trudi Canavan returns with the final novel in the Millennium's Rule series - her most powerful and thrilling adventure yet.

Rielle is now the Maker, restorer of worlds. She has lost count of the number of worlds she has been sent to save.

Tyen has cast off his old identity. No longer a spy, he now attempts to teach new sorcerers and find ways to counteract the war machines that are spreading throughout the worlds.

But when an old enemy brings news of something worse than magically dead worlds and dangerous sorcerers – a threat unlike anything the worlds have faced before – Rielle and Tyen must reunite if they are to have any chance of saving humanity.

Brilliant story- bad editing

The title was pushed back for release for a month, which was fine, we are in the middle of an international pandemic and things are just taking a bit longer than normal. Though I wish they’d just moved the date back a full month rather than every few days letting us down again.
But I’m really disappointed in the editing. Keeping in the reader getting annoyed at herself for misspeaking. Really long repetitions of sections. It’s just not what I’d expect for an audiobook from audible.
The story is pretty good, but it almost felt like I’d bootlegged it in some way, not full production value!

Amazing story. Great performance

It was worth the wait the story the suspense and great performance as in the other books. Weirdly had to reduce the speed of this book though the reading was far to fast (which I didn't notice in the other books only this one) still audio book has a great app so you can reduce the speed of the reading so it all worked out 😁

Trudi is still on form!

As with all Trudi's writings, you are transported with full immerison into her magical worlds. This series finale, in keeping with true Canavan form, has you turning every page.

I found the millennium rules series more... mature? although the younger Black Magician fans would also approve I'm sure, especially those that have grown following trudi universes. I fear the end of this series seems a little rushed but all loose end were tied up respectfully and retrospectively. I wish only one thing, and without any spoilers... I wish something... was explained further although it was referenced in the epilogue and with this I assume (more hope) that a further book is release in this universe in some way to further explore this magical world.

This title needs a re_edit

Unless my ears have mistaken this title was still not ready on release. I've heard corpsing, and many repeat sentences. Still the story is great, even though I write this half way through

Brilliant magical fantasy

Really enjoyed adding this book onto the other 3 books, brilliant how the lives of Tyen and Rielle are interweaving and glad they are back on track as a couple, how wonderful the lives run together, narration is brilliant too

Excellent ending to the series.

A great ending really bringing the whole series together.

A shame there are several production mistakes such as repeats and an outtake left in the recording. The voice acting is superb but for the production errors.

Too many editing errors

Like the other reviewers I was disappointed by the editing errors, at one point I wasn’t even sure if there might have been a chapter missing as it just lost its flow so much. I was annoyed they kept putting the release date back but obviously they still needed more time. My other bugbear with this series is the difference pronunciations of characters. Personally I prefer Hannah’s name pronunciation as she was the person who visited these characters first.

As for the actual story, it doesn’t seem as complete as the other three books to me, I felt there could have been more development of key ideas. It felt like there was a rush to finish off the story rather than to develop it further. I never like coming to the end of a series anyway as I want to know more details about what happened to the characters, just a little more fleshing out of the epilogue would have helped.

tied up the loose ends

I really enjoyed the final part of this series , although I felt it could of ended in the book before I feel like having listened to this book it offers a much more rounded & satisfying conclusion. overall I felt like the book tied up loose ends & also brought new characters & narrative directions which was nice .
