About this listen
Is it possible to make a living while giving away your work for free Online? Yes.
Is it hard? Yes.
Is it worth it? Absolutely.
After 15 years stuck behind a desk in the software industry, Bob Clagett walked away from a well-paying, stable job to make the things he was interested in and show the world how to make them, too. His company, I Like to Make Stuff, started as a hobby but quickly grew into a passion project.
In "Making Time", Bob recounts his history and build-up to becoming a full-time content creator, and shares his process, experiences, and mistakes from his first two years of self-employment. The audiobook covers topics from income streams to emotional exhaustion as well as Bob's thoughts on purpose and responsibility.

Bob being bob
Bob being bob what more could you ask for. As I have met bob on a couple of occasions and had long chats with him about all sorts this was just a continuation of those chats. Listening to the transition from hobbyist to full time maker was very interesting for a hobbyist to understand how much effort goes in to the life of bob and now the crew.

Inspiring, honest and insightful!
Really enjoyed listening to this and getting an insight into how the author built a business around something he loves to do.
It was refreshingly honest - talking through the struggle of how he went from being full time employee with a salary to a self employed content creator.
This is a great book to listen to for anyone who is thinking of starting their own business. It’s concise and easy to listen to - it’s inspired me to think differently of how I approach separating my time for my professional and personal life.
Thank you Bob.

A great insight into the business of making
Bob talks about his background and those early steps towards becoming a full time maker. But it is the insight into the business of making which is both surprising and fascinating. Even if you have no interest in starting a YouTube channel, there are some lessons in how to value your time and collaborate with others that anyone can put to use. this is a relatively short audio book which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your point of view. For me I was left wanting more but on the whole was left mostly satisfied. cheers Bob.
