Summary
Ninh Thi Phuong - so hieß die 23-Jährige einmal mit ganzem Namen. Heute heißt sie "Phuong Schultze" - der Nachname stammt vom Stiefvater, einem deutschen Fernfahrer, den Phuongs Mutter nach dem Tod ihres Mannes geheiratet hatte. Inzwischen hat Phuong über die Hälfte ihres Lebens in Deutschland verbracht, heute studiert sie in Trier. Für ein Praktikum ist sie nach Hanoi zurückgekehrt und Patrick Batarilo hat sie bei der Begegnung mit ihrer alten Heimat begleitet. Vietnam hat sich seit ihrer Kindheit radikal verändert. Das Idealbild, das sich Phuong in der Ferne von ihrer ersten Heimat gemacht hat, hält der Realität nicht stand. Aber auch Phuong hat sich verändert. Das Leben bei ihren Großeltern, ohne fließendes Wasser und ohne Privatsphäre ist doch sehr anders als Phuongs Leben in Deutschland.
