About this listen
Mary Draper knows she is a normal, gap-toothed schoolgirl--until her sleep disorder is brought to light, she dreams her cat can talk like a toff, she learns how to use the camera obscura and wishing steps; and she rescues her Victorian friend, a suspected jewel thief. The reason: Mary Draper can time travel!

A different take on time travel stories
If you could sum up Mary Draper Dreams of Castles in the Sky in three words, what would they be?
Curious
Captivating
Amusing
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mary was my favourite character. She is able to time-hop during her dreams when she sleeps, and can travel back to Victorian times where she makes some good friends. She has some great adventures with her new friends, but she has to keep remembering that a lot of the things she takes for granted in her time have not even been invented yet in her friends time!
What does Billie Fulford-Brown bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
The narrator has a nice voice that is pleasant to listen to. She adds great depth to the characters and really captures their accents and their little quirks.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were a few parts within the story were I felt for the characters, but I liked the adventure side of the story better.
Any additional comments?
I loved that it was not only Mary's ability to time-hop that was different, it was also the fact that the story has a talking cat too! He made me laugh.
