So good and thrilling!

Story: Two competitive swimmers and a romance blooming during the Olympics is a sure stage for a roller coaster of emotions. Add in some brilliant secondary characters into the mix and the plot thickens. There is no way to tear yourself away from this one!
The plot ties in perfectly into the characteristics of the MCs and their emotions are on such vivid and genuine display here! Great writing and an amazing story!

Narration: I loved the performance and voices differentiation. Clear and easy narration with just the right feels!

Sport MM romance

Entertaining story, Jacob is an interesting character, Bas well, he survived my wrath at times, their chemistry is there, I loved the secondary characters, the pacing was good the storyline was interesting enough, wished it was longer. The Olympic theme when we are actually watching the Olympics was what dragged me in, and I would've wanted to read more about the sport part of the story, the audiobook was well narrated, it's a 3rd person POV by Nick j Russo and was good enough for me to have a good time.

Brilliant!!!

I loved the first book and was really really anticipating this one! Not only I was curious about the team's performance at the Olympics but I was so excited to read Jacob's story. I loved him in the first book. I was not disappointed, the book was everything I hoped for and I enjoyed every minute. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing it to life! I highly recommend it. It's a great slow burn friends to lovers sports romance. It put a smile on my face

Great story w/awesome narration

This story picks up right where Relay left off, only focusing on Bas and Jacob. That said, we do get to more of Alex and Dane’s storyline. There were some loose ends that needed finalizing, and karma to be had. It was satisfying. //

Bas continues to take Jacob, the ‘Pup’, under his wings. It’s apparent (to everyone, it seems) that there’s more between them than just teammates. The UST is strong between these two, and so is the amount of care they feel. Jacob feels he’s too awkward, and Bas feels like he’s not good enough. Ugh! I wanna shake these beautiful boys and make them see the truth! The push and pull— the ‘I want to, but I shouldn’t’—plays out through the entire book. Don’t worry, though, as it’s not really a slow burn...or is it? (Wink, wink) //

I loved the pace of the book, and the interactions between teammates. Layla Reyna is very good about setting the scene in her stories. I appreciate it, a lot. It felt like I was actually there, in the story, and not just reading it. It was very well written, and I loved the characters. //

Nick J. Russo’s voice is as comforting as it is entertaining. It’s like coming home. He narrates a lot of my favorite books, so it’s hard not to automatically love a book he narrates. He’s very talented, and has a great range of voices for the characters he breathes life into. This was definitely another one of his books I’d happily listen to a thousand times. The story being enjoyable is an added bonus!

Worth the wait!

This listen is worth the wait. I read this book way back and was thinking it’d be great on audio & I wasn’t wrong.

Medley is the sequel to Relay. Relay was so good too, there we met Seb and Jacob. They were great characters in that book and now we get to know them deeper in Medley.

Hot, sexy, driven Olympians. Seb and Jacob are great for each other, but it took time to get there because both are getting in their own way. The swimming event parts are always a thrill reading, but it’s more when listening.

Nick Russo brought this book to life and did a spectacular job!

Very enjoyable!

Medley is book 2 in the Changing Lanes duet and you really need to read/listen to them in order or you'll be very confused. I read Relay, book 1, a long time ago, but unfortunately, RL got in the way of me reading Medley, until now.

I really liked Jacob, he was young and a bit naive, but very mature for his age, always putting everyone first. I liked Bas, but I wanted to slap him silly more than a few times. I don't particularly care about characters who think they know better. Plus the whole thing with his ex was a bit underwhelming. I was nearly at the point of giving up on Bas when he finally got his head out of his shapely behind and did right for Jacob. Good thing too, because they were amazing together.

I really liked that we got to catch up with Alex and Dane and see how the Olympics went. The competitions were everything I'd hope they would be, fast-paced and filled with emotion.

Nick J. Russo did a fantastic job, as always. All the characters had different and easily recognizable voices and he brought a lot of emotion into his performance.

While I think book 1 is still my favorite, the second half of Medley was everything. I just loved seeing how things worked out for the guys. Definitely recommendable!

Another racy sports romance

3.5 STARS This book picks up pretty much exactly where Relay ended but this time we follow the new team mate Jacob and the tattooed baddie Bas on their journey to the Olympics and to each other. There's A LOT of back and forth here and there's even some mind games between rival and Bas' ex Julio. I liked this series and the quick paced writing style. I'll read more by this author for sure. I volunteered to listen and review a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.

Olympic Glory and a love story

Sebastian is a senior member of the USA men’s Olympic swimming team. He was there four years ago when the medley relay team earned a silver medal. Respectable to just about everyone except he and his teammates. He blames himself for the ‘loss’ and has sworn he’ll do everything to make sure this time they get the gold. He takes Jacob under his wings, planning simply to shepherd the young man through to victory.

Jacob is under a lot of stress. He’s the youngest member of the team, and desperately wants to prove he won’t buckle under the pressure. But he has personal issues including his father’s health to fill his mind. He’s known as the quirky one on the team with his pirate quips. He’s also unabashedly bisexual – something that has been more of a burden than a blessing. There is a lot of stigma around people who are bisexual and this was portrayed with honesty and deftness.

Bas is also a tattoo artist when he’s not in the pool, and he inks Jacob – a welcome to the team. For Jacob, this act of intimacy solidifies his romantic feelings for Bas. Bas reciprocates the sexual attraction, but he’s been burned before and isn’t willing to risk the gold on another love affair that might go bad. But a night of sex before they head to Spain for the Olympics? Yeah, it’ll get it out of their systems, right? Life is rarely that simple, and the two men discover they have real feelings for each other. But Bas pushes Jacob away. Then Bas’ past comes barrelling into his life and Jacob faces a crisis of his own. The question is whether they can get their stuff together to win the gold or will things fall apart yet again?

I enjoy watching the Olympics and have perceived the pressure on the athletes, but the media spotlight is intense and carrying the expectations of a nation is tiring. I held out hope for the team, to be sure. Alex and Dane, the couple from the last book, have come out as a couple and although that pulls some of the spotlight, Jacob and Bas are still caught up in the mayhem of the games.

This duology was enjoyable, and I’m so glad the two books came out on audio with Nick J. Russo narrating them. Nick is an enjoyable and dependable narrator who always delivers a solid performance. Great books.

Good Sports Romance

Medley is the story of Bas and Jacob. Sweet and naive Jacob is the newest member of the Relay Team. Bas has taken Jacob under his wing, and though both are attracted to each other, Bas continues to put the breaks on any relationship as he does not want to ruin their chance at Olympic gold as he's still reeling from the failure of their last show at the games. He's also concerned as Jacob is the youngest member of the team.

I really enjoyed that the story didn't have a lot of unnecessary angst. Narration by Nick is fantastic; once again, he brings a unique sound to each character.
