Beautiful World Building

Story:
Tegwyth is a slave, but she has escaped and lives now in the shadows of a space port in constant danger of discovery. She tries to steal some bread and a warm cloak in a tavern and someone recognizes her and when she tries to flee, she is severly wounded.
Still, she can reach her hiding place, where her young daughter is desperately waiting for her return and for once, the child is fed and she can offer her some warmth.
But she is losing a lot of blood, will she survive? And what will happen to her little daughter if she succumbs to her injuries?

Narrator:
The narration of Georgie Leonard spoiled the enjoyment for me quite a bit. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with her interpretation, but I'm just not a fan of nasal voices. They always get quickly on my nerves.
But that's a personal preference and you might feel different about the narration. I would recommend to listen to the sample first, before you buy the audiobook.

Overall:
I'm totally in love with the story and hated the narration. Which means, I will read every other snippet I can find about Tegwyth and the Fortune's Fool series (the beautiful mixture of space travel and old fashioned taverns, futuristic weapons and old cloaks, the snowy landscape, the space port, I just love, love, love, the world the author has created) but will only opt for another audiobook, if it's narrated by someone different.
