Summary

An exhaustively researched and beautifully told history of God’s miraculous signs and wonders. In our age of constant innovation, technological achievement, and the sad tendency to see ourselves as the captains of our fate, we may be tempted to make little time for miracles, or give little credence to them. But lives without a sense of the miraculous are impoverished lives. Our word for miracle comes from the Latin word mirari, "to wonder." And well might we wonder when we consider the nature of miracles and their purpose. For always, Scripture teaches, the emphasis is on what God has revealed through the miracles he has bestowed on humanity. Miracles are all about him, and what he has revealed is extraordinary.

Kevin Belmonte provides learned insight into the profoundly important history of miracles. Miraculous is a richly researched tapestry of wondrous things that have taken place from ancient times to the present.

Different from what I expected but still good

Loved Kevin Belmonte's book on William Wilberforce, (both content and style) so thought this book would be a worthwhile listen. Was not disappointed. As always the narrator is key to audio book and Simon Bubb is superb. Miraculous covers a lot of ground and though not particularly logical in format, still felt engaged and wanted to listen. The book is sprinkled with lots of interesting and encouraging stories from the Bible and throughout history. The bookmarks tab comes in useful to return again and relisten. Worth a credit.
