Romance

I enjoyed listening to Kathy Handrock

Quinn Collier a 5th grade art teacher, who adores both her kids and her art. . Noah Sullivan is an ex- Army Ranger and PI, who is in town following up on leads to a decades old kidnapping charge and is pretty sure that Quinn is the missing child.

This is a story of discovery, love, acceptance and forgiveness with great characters .

Excellent & Intriguing!

(4.5 Stars)

Okay so, as a former true crime fanatic I admit what initially drew my interest to this book was the 20-year old kidnapping victim angle. That part of the plot is about our heroine, Quinn, who finds out from our Hero, Noah, that she is the victim of a kidnapping that happened to her as a toddler, where she was sold/illegally adopted. Noah has recently being working these old missing children cases and plans to just hand off the information over to the relevant parties involved and then leave for his next case. However, Quinn wouldn’t accept that and insists he stays to help with the fallout. A mutual attraction that then develops into more ensues.

The investigation plot line was most definitely my favourite part of this book, and I felt it was executed well. It kept me intrigued, and I must say I was more invested in this storyline than the romance itself.

With that said, the romance also did not disappoint. We saw our characters’ love for each other develop nicely, and it felt real. I would say the romance was also well developed.

The pacing and the writing was also excellent!

However, 0.5 star taken off because the audio quality was a bit of a miss for me. I’m not sure what it was; if it was the audio production, or if the narrator’s voice was a little too high pitched for the audio production (I’m not even sure if that makes any sense). Either way, the end result was that the audio sounded a little too squeaky and hard to hear and understand.

Besides the audio being hard to listen too, the actual story was good and I was highly invested and enjoy it!

Good story but let down by poor audio quality

This story was a sweet romance.
Noah is a PI who has been looking for a kidnap victim, only she doesn't know she's been kidnapped. Once Quinn realises that she may not be who she once thought, her whole world starts falling apart. With nobody else to turn to she leans on Noah.
Noah planned to locate his missing person, deliver his findings and them move onto the next job. Only he didn't plan on falling for Quinn.
As the two navigate the investigation, and subsequent fall out- they support each other through other personal issues and grow closer as a result.
This was an easy story to enjoy, the characters were easy to like and there were some great lines. The story around the kidnappings was interesting and how different people dealt with it all.

The narration was disappointing. The quality of the audio was poor and was really hard to listen to, especially when listening to in a car. You could even hear when different recordings were edited together.
The narrators speech was easy to understand, however there was no distinction in who was talking which make it hard to know who said what during conversations. There was also little emotion of inflection in the speech so it just sound like someone reading a book (yeah, I get the irony), so didn't pull me into the characters as much as other audio books have done.

Heartbreaking

This is a heartbreaking story. With a good strong storyline this book is very emotional. A great performance from Kathy.
