About this listen
Taught by one of Catholicism's most esteemed professors, this course will help you live a better life.
Fr. Dennis Billy holds three doctorate degrees and has published 40 books, but his humble approach to teaching and quiet wisdom have made him a beloved professor. This audio course not only offers profound reflections on theology and philosophy; it also invites you to deepen your friendship with God.
Central to the work of Aristotle and other great philosophers, the "good life" is one of the most fundamental aspects of humanity's search for meaning. Now you can explore the good life in the Catholic tradition. In the process, you'll strengthen your relationships with others and find greater personal purpose.
After exploring how the Trinity imbues life with meaning, you'll reflect upon conscience and how it helps us discern between good and evil. You'll also turn to Scripture, learning how the Ten Commandments and Beatitudes provide blueprints for the good life.
Following an in-depth study of the cardinal and theological virtues, you'll see how prayer can help you overcome evil and how living in the Spirit leads to happiness. Finally, you'll explore the threefold path of purgation, illumination, and transforming union.
The Good Life: A Course on Moral Theology will inspire and guide you. Begin this essential journey today.
This course is part of the Learn25 collection and includes a free PDF study guide.

Useful Insights, Well Delivered, Spiritual Growth
It’s not so easy to give feedback on a lecture program, especially given the subjective elements of any such commentary.
From a listing perspective, Rev. Dennis has a pleasant voice and is easy to listen to, the lectures being well paced and his oration, compelling a d interesting.
Each lecture is short enough, at c. 30 mins to find time to fit into a day and the accompanying pdf lecture notes are very well prepared and extremely useful.
From a personal perspective, I find the area of Moral Theology as delivered by the Catechism of the Catholic Church, to be quite tricky to grasp in places. As such, Rev. Dennis’ course has been highly useful and a much more accessible route into this area of spirituality. Importantly, whilst the course uses the term Theology in the title, this is more of a journey of into spirituality informed by the theological teachings, that guides the participant to a greater understanding of the Good Life and inspires one to live this out.
I was encouraged by Rev. Dennis’ enthusiasm and his ability to present something that at times can be quite abstract, in an understandable form.
We are all at different points in our Faith journey, but I believe that wherever you are, you will experience something positive and grow in the Spirit.
