Summary
"One day, you’ll be pumping my gas."
Mike Miller’s life has gone to shit. The formerly popular high school quarterback now works at a gas station in the middle of nowhere. The last thing he needs is meeting the guy he used to bully at school and seeing him all sorts of polished up. James is now the proud owner of an amazing silver Jaguar and a self-made millionaire. It seems that the day couldn’t get any worse for Mike, but James "Lovelace" Austin might just turn out to be his golden ticket out of the job he hates.
When James Austin meets Mike Miller, his high school crush and tormentor all in one, working at an old, dirty gas station, it feels as if the stars have finally aligned in his favor. He wants to finally get his revenge on the guy, but when Mike turns out to be gay, the whole afternoon takes a turn for the surreal. Instead of just humiliating Mike at his workplace, James decides to hire him for a weekend at a conference he’s attending. A hot guy by his side is the only accessory James needs to rub his success in the faces of his frenemies.
Only problem is, a gay Mike Miller might be too much of a blast from the past than James ever expected. If James wants his nerdy heart safe from the hunky jock, he needs to keep Mike at arms length. The task would be a lot easier if Mike wasn’t unashamedly hitting on James. Or is it just James’ money Mike is after?

Enjoyable story, ok narration
Mr Jaguar was one of the earlier MM books that I remember reading and really drew me with several tropes and lovable characters.
Mike and James are in vastly different positions than they were than when they were at school and when James pulls up in his Jaguar to the garage that Mike works at, it sets off a chain that culminates in Mike travelling with James to a conference and playing the role of his boyfriend. It's Mike's first chance to be in a gay relationship in front of others since coming out and James is the guy he crushed on at school. You can feel his excitement and getting to do anything physical with the other man but there are worries once feelings become involved as he's being paid to be there and that brings a whole set of problems. James originally wanted to get back at Mike for how he was bullied at school but Mike is so endearing that it's hard to stay mad at him and he's so helpful when it comes to interacting with the good and bad people at this work conference.
Overall it's an good story and I love the way that the relationship between the MC's develops. Lots of hot scenes and fun banter to keep it interesting.
The audio is ok, not a lot of difference in the character voices and emotions but the personalities of the men comes across and helps to bring out the story.

Amazing
Enemies to lovers, redemption, are just a few of the types of story covered. KA Merikan is amazing, always an amazing experience. The narration by Wyatt Baker was spot on.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Mr. Jaguar
After his outing, the family kicks Mike out. What's left is an unsatisfying job at a gas station to make ends meet. But then Mr. Jaguar shows up. Turns out he knows Mike from High School and doesn't have good memories of him. James, unlike Mike, is successful and he makes Mike a surprising offer, which Mike does not refuse.
The story is relatively short, that's why the characterization of the protagonists isn't very deep. In the beginning, both were quite stereotpy: one rich, the other one poor. James is determined, Mike more impulsive. The plot is comprehensible and I had to laugh in between now and then. The story was narrated quite well and I liked the development the story takes. A modern fairy tale - something light to read in between. But the end was too fast for me

A winner all around
I loved this take on the bully/victim, enemies/lovers, fairy tale reimagined take. K. A. Merikan does some of the best dark, dark romance out there but this is one of their lighter stories. It still has plenty of feels and angst, though. I need three things from a bully/victim to lovers romance in order to buy in: 1) the bully has to be truly repentant, 2) the previous victim has to stand up for himself and demand respect and 3) I have to believe both have changed since their earlier roles and are now able to have a healthy relationship and HEA or HFN. This book more than met those criteria. I think James' initial impulse to want to hurt and humiliate Mike is perfectly natural and watching him process the changes in Mike and himself since their younger days was fascinating and rewarding. Mike completely convinced me he had changed and his backstory was convincing as to why he had been the bully in the past. I loved these two guys together. Wyatt Baker did a superb job of making the emotional changes both men had gone through and their complicated emotional journey in the present of this book absolutely believable. The pain from the past was real and so were the changes and joy in finding each other in the present. A five star job all around.

First time Audio
So this is my first time on Audio, but I am a massive fan of K.A.Merikan.
Story is a 5☆ for me as always. Wyatt Baker did an awesome job narrating.
I lived the build up and tension between Mike and James and the sweetness between them.

A geek/jock reunion story with a Cinderfella twist
James is the geek who was bullied in high school by Mike, the quarterback, and years later gets the chance to turn the tables when he drives his Jaguar into a filling station and his former bully is the mechanic on duty. This is a really fun novella-length story with LOTS of heat, as these two get to know each other on a new and completely different level when James makes a mutually beneficial proposition to Mike. An opportunity to exorcise the demons of the past and move forward in their lives is what elevates this story beyond a simple Cinderfella/revenge trope into something that is sweeter and hotter. Wyatt Baker’s narration is fantastic and amplifies the emotions wonderfully.

Not my style
I was just really unimpressed with this story overall, but found it difficult to even like either of the characters. Mike had such an ego on him that by the time he left town, I was ready to open the door and push him out of the car.
I believe it was supposed to be enemies to lovers, but it was more enemies to fake boyfriends to enemies that have hate sex and then decide to stay together.
First time narrator for me, and I found his retelling to be delightful.

Intense
This was a nice plot from Merikan. I am very used to this author being gritty and lethal. This book is the "fluffier" side of Merikan. I enjoyed the narration by Baker. He does magnificent embodying these characters.

MM Pretty Woman!
Story: Loved it! A cute MM version of Pretty Woman with an added spice of high school drama and bullies. The characters were entertaining and very genuine - they both have flaws miles wide and make their share of mistakes. The story was a pleasure to listen!
Narration: Everything as it should be! A good voice, easy to follow characters differentiation.

Clever and So Much Fun
If you’re like me and just never got around to reading K.A. Merikan’s Mr. Jaguar, it’s now available as an audiobook, so there can be no more excuses.
Performed by Wyatt Baker, he keeps up a fantastic pace and makes this one so much fun!
With a clever twist on the Pretty Woman theme, the MCs knew each other in High School and have some interesting history. Picked on and bullied as a teen, James harbored a secret crush on popular jock Mike (who was secretly lusting after him as well).
The authors take advantage of every opportunity to have fun with this one, but there’s a nice touch of raw emotion as well. A nicely rounded story, with some fabulous erotica, and a very happy ending, the right time for Mr. Jaguar is now!
