Summary

Behind the normal door of a normal house, in a normal street, two men are slowly driving each other insane. One of them is a psychopath.

The father: Mr Todd is at his wits' end. He's been robbed of his job as a tax inspector and is now stuck at home...with him. Frustrated. Lonely. Angry. Really angry.

The son: Adrian has no job, no friends. He is at home all day, obsessively chopping vegetables and tap-tap-tapping on his computer. And he's getting worse, disappearing for hours at a time, sneaking off to who-knows-where.

The unholy spirit: In the safety of suburbia, one man has developed a taste for killing. And he'll kill again.

Excellent in every way

So good...sorry to have reached the end. The narrator Michael Simmons is wonderful..he makes the main character and all others come alive....the story kept me engaged all through and I laughed out loud many times. Dark humour and realistic thoughts about those around the main character was cleverly written. I do hope another thriller is in the pipe line I will definitely pre order!!!

Good and Entertaining listen

Evil existing within a respectible, ordinary man. Interesting character analysis makes for an absorbing listen.

OUTSTANDING !

This book had me engaged and completely immersed in this brilliant story about very ordinary people. I'd never heard of this author, but so glad I found him. His writing is brilliant and the way his characters come across to the reader/listener is absolutely realistic and believable. His writing puts me in mind of Ruth Rendell/Barbara Vine psychological one off thriller books.

The book is dark and sinister from the outset, the main character will draw you in immediately and you know you've met this type of person some time in your past.
The writer will go from talking about a certain situation or character and then immediately revert back to the other storylines running along in this book. It isn't confusing at all in fact it only draws you in more. Although the book is dark and very much a psychological thriller, it made me laugh out loud! People will know what I mean by that when they meet the main character in this book. This book will not disappoint.
I can't believe this author has escaped me for so long, this is a brilliant Psychological Thriller and yet I have never seen it on Goodreads or here on Audible as a Psych Thriller.I intend to read all this author's books now, sadly only one other on Audible which is a shame.
I must give huge praise to the narrator, oh how he got this character's voice so perfect and just how I would expect him to speak.
