Straight back in
It had been a while since I'd last read, or even thought about Scalzi's Dispatcher series and Tony Valdez, but I was hooked again immediately. Such a weird premise but it works, why not? Brilliant little novel and hopefully a good intro into the next phase of the series.

Imaginative and fun
Its a full on detective story with a strange sci-fi twist, the concept is out there and the story isn’t too hard to figure out where it’s going but it’s well written short and fast paced and read beautifully. Really enjoyable and free

Perfect Short Listen
I'm loving this series right now. currently straight in to the third after finishing this one. The stories flow nicely and the narrator easy on the ear. Recommended.

book 1 was 5 out of 5, this was in even better
there are very few amount of books that are better than the original chapter 1. this book blew my mind. amazing story line.
i really missed some romance and slight actions, also I felt sometimes dialogues are too much narrative. and voice work was better in book 1.
but story wise this book is way better. loved it.

Brilliant! Great find!
I’m new to John Scalzi’s work and chose this title plus the previous title in the Tony Valdez series because of the narrator - Zachary Quinto. Both books are brilliant in terms of story and narration. The whole concept of the “Dispatcher” is fascinating and it’s great to come across a unique and novel story like these, and as they are included in my subscription I didn’t need to use a credit for them. Thank you Audible.

Enjoyable and not too long
Really good crime story in the interesting settings, drawing on great classics such as Raymond Chandler’s and Phillip Dick (at least I hear the echo of their writing).
It’s my second one in the series- a perfect choice for compact and satisfying entertainment. Can be listened to in one go.
