Summary

A murdered art teacher, a piano bar, and danger for Sheridan Hendley, amateur sleuth.

Sheridan Hendley, amateur sleuth, wants nothing more than a return to routine following their family vacation. The last thing she needs is to find herself involved in another murder investigation. But that's precisely what happens when the victim is one of Maddie’s favorite teachers at the high school. While Sheridan’s trying not to sleuth, the high school principal assures everyone Sheridan will find the killer. Despite an abundance of people wanting to share their thoughts on the teacher, Sheridan and the police are stymied.

An artist and music buff, Alyssa Drake was last seen alive at the Old Thyme Piano Bar. As Sheridan starts to put the pieces together, she realizes the victim may have uncovered funny business at the piano bar that led to her death. Now the killer, sure Sheridan knows more than she does, is after her. Join Sheridan, Brett, and their friends as they enjoy the piano man and uncover the killer.

Loved the narration of Jeanne Pilgrim Mayo

Sheridan and her family are home from a trip to Ireland when her step daughters teacher is discovered unconscious in a ladies rest room. It looks like a overdose , but she has been murdered and Sheridan sets out to investigate
Another wonderful mystery.

Yet another enjoyable book in this series

This can be listened as part of the series or a standalone - either works. I have listened to the series, so am familiar with the characters but it would work.

The narration suits the story and although there are a number of characters you can always tell who is talking.

The main story works but is added to by the side story, all in all a pleasant listen.

Best one so far

Brett, Sheridan and Maddie are just back from vacation when a rest stop involves them in the death of a teacher at Maddie's school. the best one so far, A strong story that grips you from the first scene, through the investigation, issues with the family home life and through to the tense climax. A good range of suspects and menacing strangers make this a really good read. Highly recommend this series. Jeanne Pilgrim Mayo is an excellent narrator but her male voices are a bit weak, but this is a minor quibble. I received a complimentary copy of the audio from the author and am leaving a honest voluntary review

Good Listen

This is yet another very entertaining listen from Christa Nardi. Although it's book 7 in the series it reads well as a stand alone, I've listened to earlier in the series and maybe it helps to be familiar with the characters but... This time Sheridan Hendley and her family have just arrived home from a trip to Ireland when her step daughters teacher is discovered unconscious in a ladies rest room. Despite looking like and overdose she has been murdered and Sheridan sets out to investigate. Throw in Brett's jealous ex wife trying to get custody of his daughter and other side plots all in all it makes a jolly good read. Jeanne Pilgrim Mayo does a great job of the narration once again.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this honest review voluntarily.

Art, music and murder

I enjoyed this book. This is book seven in this fun series and can be read as a standalone book but I think it helps if you know the characters, especially with all the home life drama that goes on. The book is nicely balanced with the investigation and family life, some of it even over laps. The mystery was interesting and I liked the way the author used the murdered victims own job skills to help solve the case. There are a lot of characters, many of whom we have already met in previous books, who add to the fun, drama and mystery but all are likeable and down to earth people. I especially like the relationships between the characters and it is nice to have an author that can write about people who get on with there family members. Over all a nicely worked mystery and a great series.
Sheridan and her family have just returned from there long awaited trip to Ireland but a quick pit stop to use the facilities leads to another murder investigation. They find Maddie's favourite teacher slumped in the bathroom stall of an apparent drug over dose. Maddie's headmaster calls a meeting with Sheridan to plead that she would never have used drugs and he needs her help to find her killer. Sheridan is reluctant to get involved and wants to leave it to the police. That is until somebody starts to follow her and than boldly tries to kidnap her. The only way to feel safe is to start investigating. The dead teacher was an artist, is it possible she could have left clues about who killed her? At the same time Maddie's mother is trying for another custody battle. Can Sheridan find the killer and keep Maddie?
I liked the narrator. She uses a wide range of voices for the characters, so you never have any problems knowing who was talking.
