About this listen
If people only see what they expect to see, then why doesn't Julia Harrington?
When her friend, Lady Samantha, spies a rather handsome groom from her bedchamber window, Lady Julia agrees the man is far too handsome to be a groom. "He could be a gentleman", she tells Sam, thinking it wouldn't be too difficult to teach the servant how to speak and dance and dress like a gentleman. Doubting Julia can accomplish such a task, Samantha dares her to do just that - and in time for the Mayfield ball - in just three weeks!
Alistair Comber, the second son of the Earl of Aimsley, was fighting Napoleon's forces on the Continent until his true identity was revealed. Having assured one of his dying soldiers he would see to a monthly income for the man's widow and children, Alistair returns to England intending to keep the promise. But when his father refuses to honor the obligation, Alistair is forced to sell his commission to help raise the funds. Angered that his son would do such a thing, the earl disowns Alistair.
In need of a position and a place to live, Alistair uses his skills as an expert horseman to gain a position as a groom at Harrington House.
When Lady Julia tells him of her plans to make him into a gentleman in time for the ball, Alistair agrees to the scheme. After all, how hard can it be when he's already a gentleman? Alistair is about to find out just how hard it can be in My Fair Groom.

Loved the story
Loved every second of the story, everytime I had to stop I was doing to get back to it. Im really enjoying Linda Rae Sande's books as they are Regency with a difference, besides other things there are always 2 stories in every book. They usually are quite nice and steamy but this one wasn't until the end and it was only a bit steamy, not much sex in it. But the stories were really sweet and funny like the first 3 were. I have been listening to themaccording to the timeline and not according to the series.
As for the narrator, Scott Richard Ehredt I didn't like his voice very much especially for the female voices. But apart from 3 all the other books are narrated by Michael Troughton who I think is a brilliant narrator. Now on to the next one The Grace of a Duke.

Happy to Recommend!
Hidden Identity, searching for out of wedlock children ....two fabulous romances with happy ever afters in this very readable book and audiobook.
The characters in the main story, Julia and Alistair, are very endearing and I had a good few chuckles after Lady Julia's first kiss. It seems a man can also be affected by that kind of kiss and the way they dance around each other after it is hilarious.
And then we have the other side of the coin in the story running alongside the main one with a man whose kisses put women off until he meets the love of his life who teaches him the right way to kiss.
Lovely characters, beautifully told stories and a good narration made this a very pleasurable experience which I am happy to recommend.
I listened to a complimentary copy of the audiobook and my voluntary review above is unbiased.

An entertaining story
This was as a good paced, lighthearted and entertaining story There are two stories in this book concerning two friends, Gabriel Wellingham, Earl of Trenton and Alistair Comber, the second son of an earl. Gabriel is wealthy but has a poor reputation which hinders his quest for a bride. Alistair is in need of money and is looking for a way to earn some money to fulfil a pledge to a colleague. There follows the interesting tale of how they found their happy ending. The narrator changed his voice for the different characters and although his voice was a little gruff, it worked well.
