Difficult subject

This was...not an easy story to read. Clever and well plotted, yes - I did not see those twists coming, but not easy. Teacher/student relationships are never going to be pleasant, even when they are fictional. For me, this was also a lesson in empathy and forgiveness. Susan Lewis has a way of adding such shocking twists to a story, that have me hating a character one minute and feeling sad for them the next. The first half of this book made me feel very uncomfortable, but that was before the truths of these characters were revealed, things are never as straightforward as they seem. I did not foresee any way for My Lies, Your Lies to have a happy ending, but it did have a satisfactory one. I ended up liking certain characters I never thought I would.

Gripping

I really enjoyed the book and was a bit sad when I finished it. I liked the fact all the loose ends were tied up and thought the relationships were well developed so I didn’t think the end was too drawn out from my personal perspective. It was well narrated and I can imagine listening to it again at some point.

A little too long

I did enjoy the book and at times it was very exciting. But once the plot was out there was still over an hour left which I did listen to but was I thought unnecessary and a bit boring. Still a good read but not sure I would want to recommend it

A difficult story

Not one of her best stories but quite enjoyable took. A while to get in to but once it all fell in to place I liked it.

A Victorian plot

I enjoyed the first part of the book very much. Intruiging and unusual. I found the latter part somewhat tedious, with its lengthy series of revelations. The narration of the female characters, particularly Marion, is excellent. You feel you have met her.

Spoilt by narration

The story was good with lots of twists and turns albeit VERY far fetched, but I really struggled with the narration, it made the characters come across as very haughty and stuck up which made it very hard to warm to them.
