A really good read from the golden age of crime fiction. Great plot and characters.

Excellent mystery

What a truly excellent “yarn” with brilliant narration. I will be watching out for any other Campions on audible.

Great second book with much humour

A very enjoyable 2nd book in series. Good story line, lots of qwerky characters and Campions humorous remarks sprinkled throughout to keep you smiling. I love the Campion character and his random humour. His man servant Lug and his prison friend add another lighter note to the book. The murder mystery story still has plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. A good listen.

Mystery Mile

Well this story had it all, while trying to save his commission, Campion lost his love while fighting the most sort after criminal there has been. Read brilliantly by Francis Matthews.

Somewhat underwhelming.

I'm sorry to say "Mystery Mile" felt flat and underwhelming. I felt no curiosity or thrill while listening. I usually enjoy Margery Allingham's books, so maybe I was just in a headspace for something denser and deeper than this quick little mystery.
"Mystery Mile" is not a bad book, but definitely my least favourite out of the Campion series so far.

very enjoyable...

A very enjoyable story. Francis Matthews narrates so well and this adds to the audiobook. Most of the Campion books drag a little in the middle but his narration helps it along.

Francis Matthews narrations is just superb. I love the storylines also but Matthews brings the characters in to the room. Glorious.

Brilliant Allingham.

What more needs said than this is a classic Allingham novel of the highest quality. Wonderful twisting story, beautifully written as always, beautifully read by Francis Matthews, with multiple doses of laugh out loud humour, and a superb and exciting denouement. Allingham is sadly too often overlooked as one of the very greatest mystery writers of the Golden Age as her novels are not of the "classic" whodunit variety. Campion is a creation of pure genius.
