Good. But No her best

I have this lady's whole Canon. Well. all available on Audible. From Victorian detective (well worth a listen). To Fran Valdy books. Thought I had all these but no. So having now completed this one it is rare in not being her best. Far too much time spent describing who is related to who and the reason he or she is feeling this or that way. Far too little time spent on the actual story. It is not a bad book. She is a good writer.

Expected better

Or tolerable. A couple were ok but it was mostly 'fetch me my pashmina, I'm hunting the petit, petit bourgeoisie '
