You will be ok
When looking on the outside in, it seems to be easy to spot a person with narcissistic tendencies. However, then somebody comes along when seems perfect and your world gets turned upside down. It can be difficult to see the truth and leave an unhealthy relationship. However, this audiobook provides a private guide to help you do just that. The narrator had an engaging tone and it was easy to follow the sensible advice of the author. While not an easy process, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. That is why the chapters focusing on the next steps after leaving a relationship were so valuable, to provide ways for you to become happier and move towards finding a healthy relationship in the future.

It's not your fault
For survivors of narcissistic abuse, identifying and escaping the abuse is only a first step. What comes next is even less clear. How do we heal? I feel like this book does such a good job of helping you with that. I especially loved the assurances that it is not your fault that you went through advise. We do need to hear it often. I also benefitted from the section on the long-term effects of being in a relationship with a narcissist.

An empowering and transformative book
I didn't realize how damaging a narcissistic relationship can be until I listened to this audiobook. There are 200,000 cases every year in the U.S. This audiobook truly provides much-needed hope for them. The audiobook starts by categorizing the five types of narcissists, providing a clear strategy to identify narcissists and their techniques: manipulation and gaslighting. The discussion on co-dependency and how to break free from its chains was inspiring and helpful. In addition, the author addressed the trauma and PTSD that result from narcissistic abuse.
Gaining freedom is only the first step, and recovery is equally important. Acceptance, self-love, and moving forward with intention. All steps help rebuild well-being and a happy life. The guidance on strengthening oneself, setting healthy boundaries, and being mindful of new relationships is invaluable. It's about reclaiming your right to happiness and stepping into a future where you are the guardian of your own life. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to heal from narcissistic abuse and rebuild a whole new life with self-confidence and self-love.
