Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The gorgeous feel-good LGBTQ+ romantic comedy from the author of Date Me, Bryson Keller!
Two boys. Two bands. Two worlds colliding.
Nate Hargraves—stage-shy singer-songwriter—is totally stoked for his cousin's wedding in South Africa, an all-expenses-paid trip of a lifetime. Until he finds out his sleaze-ball ex-boyfriend is also on the guest list.
Jai Patel—hot-as-hell high school rock-god—has troubles, too. His band's lead singer has quit, just weeks before the gig that was meant to be their big break.
When Nate saves the day by agreeing to sing with Jai's band, Jai volunteers to be Nate's plus-one to the wedding, and the stage is set for a summer of music, self-discovery and simmering romantic tension. What could possibly go wrong?...

Good story, narrator not great.
I will start by saying that I enjoyed the underlying story itself, but the narrator just didn’t do it justice. I am South African, so was cautiously optimistic that the narrator might be better than he turned out to be - I think he would be good for narrating books where accents aren’t required. I found the mispronunciation of sooo many of the South African words quite jarring (I think the only ones pronounced correctly were “braai”, “bakkie” and “amandla”). The South African accents were also not great, and constantly took me out of the story. I persisted with the audiobook though, as the story itself was well-written, and felt quite nostalgic. I no longer live in South Africa, so it was wonderful to be taken back to places in the story that I know well. With a better narrator, this audiobook would have been infinitely more enjoyable.

another great from Kevin van Whye
Loved the story and the interactions between Nate, Jai and the rest of the characters. Yes some of it is obvious but it is heart warming and an easy listen.
the narration was excellent too, enhancing the story.
