About this listen
Your nervous system is you. All the thoughts, perceptions, moods, passions, and dreams that make you an active, sentient being are the work of this amazing network of cells. For many centuries, people knew this was true. But no one was sure how it happened. Now, thanks to the exciting new field of neuroscience, we can chart the workings of the brain and the rest of the nervous system in remarkable detail to explain how neurons, synapses, neurotransmitters, and other biological processes produce all the experiences of everyday life, in every stage of life.
From the spectacular growth of the brain in infancy to the act of learning a skill, falling in love, getting a joke, revising an opinion, or even forgetting a name, something very intriguing is going on behind the scenes.

Informative
Extremely interesting, filled with information. Only let down was that they made reference to videos and quoted things which they were showing a class.

Educational
This is a really interesting subject but as you'd expect, it's an academic course and so is probably best consumed over a number of weeks. I didn't do it personally, but some reading around the subject areas may have helped. I would imagine that if the reader is actually following an academic course in neuroscience or a near related field then this title would have been very useful.

An interesting and accessible introduction
I enjoyed Professor Sam Wang's introduction to neuroscience. He smoothly gives a very gentle introduction to a fascinating and complex science with concrete examples and relatable life experiences. Recommended!

Excellent. Just missing the visuals
Refers at times to images we can't see. Otherwise excellent. Very informative and useful for coaches

Solid information presented in an interesting way
I've read many books on neuroscience and done several other of the Great Courses programs in this area too. Much of the information is covered in other books and courses, however, I still learned some new things and consolidated some past learning. I am generally a fan of these courses and am happy to recommend this as being a high-quality program.

Very informative lectures but...
It would be more even more so if we could actually see on the PDF all the diagrams he is clearly referring to in the lecture. Frustrating.

really good and easy to understand
I really thought this book was going to be difficult to follow, but with each chapter I was able to follow as I am still learning and the story teller makes it an easy listen.
