Summary
The best-selling author of My Sister's Keeper and The Tenth Circle, Jodi Picoult pens her most riveting book yet, with a startling and poignant story about the devastating aftermath of a small-town tragedy.
Sterling is an ordinary New Hampshire town where nothing ever happens - until the day its complacency is shattered by an act of violence. Josie Cormier, the teenage daughter of the judge sitting on the case, should be the state's best witness, but she can't remember what happened before her very own eyes - or can she? As the trial progresses, fault lines between the high school and the adult community begin to show, destroying the closest of friendships and families.

thought provoking
Worth your time to listen to this story. I nearly rejected the book early on as it was a bit slow and confusing initially setting the scene and introducing the characters. However, once set it had a thought provoking storyline.

Nineteen Minutes - Although subject matter not nice, good storytelling
Nineteen Minutes - Although subject matter not nice, good storytelling
Jodi does write book that give you an all perspective of the characters in the book.
Narration was OK sometimes I felt there could have been a bit more passion in her voice

A story that will stick with you
A well told tale that’s all too common now in America. The characters were memorable and there’s a twist in the end that we didn’t see coming. Picked it up because we will always listen to anything narrated by Carol Monda.

Listen to your dear ones.
The characters are very clear, their behaviour is very annoying. It's an important subject to be brought into the lime light
The goodies are the badies and the badies are the goodies
Why are people so cruel to one another.?
When life is hectic, no time to breathe, every one is on automatic timetable
Take a few moments, listen to your kids, partners, help them to tell you what is really disturbing them.
Help one another before it's too late.

Nineteen Minutes? I wish it had been
I was very disappointed by this. Previously I had listened to by Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult and, even though it wasn't perfect, I did enjoy it.
This book was far too long and some of the personal (family and romantic) scenes were cringe-worthy. The writing had little bite and I had to fast-forward some of the more dreary parts that held no interest for me.
I was determined to finish it, and I did, but I would think twice before buying another of her novels.

Love Jody Picoult
I love her logic, the surprising change in the story and the end, that there is always a chance to carry on life after hard times.
