About this listen
'A lovely story that kept me turning the pages' Jules Wake
In an Instagram world, can you find love just by being yourself…
Popular lifestyle blogger, Libby Cartwright, is being boggled by business when help shows up in the shape of gorgeous but shy, Charlie Richmond. Libby’s determined to keep it at ‘just good friends’ – she’s dated someone from ‘Corporate Land’ before and it didn’t end well. As she and Charlie begin spending more time together, Libby is starting to waver – until she discovers something which makes her question if she’s ready for love.
Still reeling, she suffers another blow as her blog is attacked in a national newspaper, for promoting unachievable perfection. Libby knows it’s not true – but the only way to prove that is to strip off the armour she’s been wearing for years.
Is she brave enough to show the world she’s far from perfect? And will Charlie be by her side if she does…
A gloriously funny, wise, heart-warming and romantic listen for all fans of Lindsey Kelk and Mhairi Macfarlane, from the author of the bestselling Winter’s Fairytale.

Lovely gentle romance
Beautiful story with lots of funny moments along the way. A slow steady story which I loved!

Slow but worth a listen
I had to speed up this book as it was too slow, but also the story was very slow getting going also. Really nice story and i love how the romance developed in the end.

Good story - narration put me off a little.
Very strange narration, sounds a little robotic at times - it stopped me getting into the story :(

disappointing, boring, slow
I really liked the authors "don't look up" book so decided to listen to more. Unfortunately, I made a bad decision cos this was nowhere near as good.
Firstly, the narrator was a painfully slow reader. Slowing it down didn't help cos the sentences still sound odd. I wondered if it was just badly written dialogue. the things the characters say are just said a bit funny,.. as if the stress was never in the right part so when I sped up the the narration it sounded weirder.
I chose this book cos I also have a blog and was interested in this topic, but it was mostly just her advertising products when mentioned until right at the end. the suggested incident in the blurb sounded like a decent plot but was a tiny event at the end that had no impact on the story.
She was meant to be an eco-friendly blogger, but again, there was no understanding of this topic. she just accepted a lot of fairtrade products she didn't want and gave them away to friends... just made her blog sound like it lacked substance.
My main issue is that there wasn't really a plot at all. nothing happens. It's just a lot of dinner dates and hanging out and talking. Barely any character development for minor characters - they were mostly all nice and kind with zero drama (not including Alex, who was a boring character).
I kept listening as i used a credit and have nothing else, but i wish I had got a refund. 14h of explaining body language to a painful extent, no decent descriptive language, minimal drama, and characters using cliché expressions. It was slow and super boring. made so much worse by the s l o w narrator.
And to top it off, the end was super fast. None of the good stuff readers have been waiting for. I won't say more than that as I'm trying to avoid spoilers.
It felt like a first draft that could possibly be good with proper editing and an improvement in structure. yet it's published?! my review is harsh and I'm sorry if the author actually reads it. I really did love her other book so don't believe it's a lack of talent, just a book that needs loads more work.
and just to add I love simple rom coms, light hearted contemporary romance as well as heavier stuff or romantic suspense, so its not just personal preference. i wish I had chosen a different book by the author but now feel too scared to purchase another!
