A really educational & engaging listen
I learned so much from this book. It was so much more than a book about racism in sport but also social commentary which I could completely relate to. The personal stories & emotion which the writer used too made it even more engaging. An education for all, sports fan or not.

Fantastic book
What a brilliant book and what a brilliant premise. Bardowell captures a particular era of sport, ties it in with the emergence of Black (and to a lesser extent, Brown) immigration and describes, perfectly, the prevailing political landscape of the time. Anyone who grew up Black or Brown in 70s/80s UK will be thrust back to the years of the National Front, Margaret Thatcher, Norman Tebbit, the London Olympics and on and on.
Really well written, not overly academic so digestible and entertaining. Excellent stuff.
