About this listen
When Aiden agrees to run the Mad Mucker - a 12-mile muddy slog over an obstacle course - he's expecting it to be a bit of a laugh. The training will be tough, but Aiden could use the motivation to regain some fitness.
Matt is the sexy cousin of one of Aiden's coworkers and a last-minute addition to the team. When he agrees to train with Aiden, Aiden suddenly finds the prospect of regular workouts a lot more appealing.
Soon attraction flares, and they embark on an intense physical relationship. Matt doesn't want to fall in love with a man, and Aiden doesn't want to fall in love at all, but despite their insistence on no strings, they grow closer. As the day of the race approaches, time is running out for them to work out how they feel about each other.

Any additional comments?
Don't do it, read the book, the author is great, but Nothing Serious with the same narrator is much better

Great story but...
I love this story, but couldn't finish listening to it. I couldn't stand the accent of the narrator. It just wasn't what I'd imagined in my head as I read the book. It was too 'plummy' for my liking and made the characters sound like a bunch of upper class twits. they sounded like they belonged to the world of wooster and jeeves. won't be purchasing any more books with this narrator.

I previously reviewed the ebook (see below) and loved this story. I've only listened to one of Jay's audiobooks and am still adjusting to Matthew Lloyd Davies' voice and narration for her characters. His voice is clear and well spoken, and although he has a British voice to fit the British story, I feel a more youthful and less sophisticated voice would have suited the characters I'd pictured in my mind. The narrator made a clear distinction between Aiden and Matt's voices, as he did with the other characters, and this made for easy listening. Once again, the performance was professional and the production is of a high quality.

An entertaining story
What made the experience of listening to Nothing Ventured the most enjoyable?
For a 4 hour listen, this was fun. Sweet story. Fairly implausible love affair as you'd expect and a few one-dimensional characters so this is definitely not ground breaking, but a good short listen to. As I usually listen while out running or cycling, this was also a nice thematic fit. Not as good as other book in this genre such as "Scrap Metal" but ok.
